I also prefer voiceovers on videos!! I think it's really nice to be able to get to know the creator aside from the video content they put out.. it's a good way to peek at their personality and hear what they have to say! also somehow I've never seen CCS but your artwork is absolutely gorgeous!! 💖

The censorship and changes to make it more “easy” for the American children to understand reminds me of the first Harry Potter book changed the title from Philosopher’s Stone to Sorcerer’s Stone in America because they feared that philosopher was too difficult of a word for the children 😂

Another beautiful screencap redraw. When I was younger, I never really watched anime. I did see a few episodes of Naruto Shippuden but that was it. I mostly watched Nick and Disney Channel. I didn't really get into watching anime until I was in eighth grade. My first anime was Shugo Chara and I would do the same thing as you where I would draw the characters mostly Amu and draw her very pretty costumes. I wasn't a big anime fan but now I'm slowly starting to really like anime. I haven't heard Cardcaptor Sakura but ill check it out! I like old animes like Sailor Moon, etc. The art style is really beautiful and pleasing.

I have the actual Clow Card set from this show, because I /loved/ them SO MUCH. I used to draw the art of the cards a lot, and came in this cute plastic book. To this day, one of my favorite purchases. I hope to one day also have a Spinal Sun plush because he was awesome as hell.

I think I would relate a lot more to Sakura than I related to Usagi. Don’t get me wrong, Usagi is great and I love her but as much as I love her genius quotes such as « I wanna lose weight... but I also wanna eat... » I am not really like her. She seems like she mostly goes with the flow and she’s really lazy. You describe Sakura as a hard-worker who’s really diligent and has a lot of drive (especially at school). I work a lot (and I mean a whole lot) at school, am really implicated in « clubs » at my school and I would describe myself has having a lot of drive. Hearing you say that makes me think that maybe I should actually give the show/manga a shot !

I get what you mean!! The animes we watch when we are kids really hit us different! For me its Mermaid Melody. To this day i have to rewatch it sometimes and i sing the songs almost everyday because it just makes me happy and fuzzy! If you go with Studio Ghibli, I would recommend Mary and the Witch's Flower, or Whisper of the Heart. Love your use of color and technique with this piece! I've always wanted to watch Cardcaptor Sakura, but after listening to your little summary, I definitely need to watch it now! There was an anime series on Netflix where this vampire and regular girl are completely in love. They found out they’re related and they still carried on lols. Weird! There is a new season of Sakura CardCaptor... They are a bit older though (I believe Middle School equivalent in the US) but I've only watched like 3 episodes. Its pretty interesting so far.

I feel like I missed thos some where but what red pencil is initially on your piece? I find traditional pencils smudge when transfering sketches and change the color of the paint sometimes. Btw this rendition is gorgeous!!

I use the col-erase coloured pencil by Prismacolour to sketch (it’s erasable) and then I’ll go over it with the Polychromos coloured pencil by Faber Castell (it’s oil based so it’ll resist water) thank you!!

I think a 4th grader should just be a kid. You have your whole adult life to be productive. Do your homework, maybe take a piano lesson or something, that’s good enough. I hate when parents make their kids be super productive and do many after school activities, etc. Just let kids be kids!

CHloE748 I believe it’s important to give a child structure. Where I come from after school activities mostly kept kids out of trouble. There are stories of early involvement in basketball/football/art saving lives that would otherwise have been led astray by boredom and mischief. Of course, that’s not to say to force them. But I believe in a middle ground.

You know? I'm more of the opposite. I tend to avoid magical girl genre because of its overly usage of femininity. I know that a girl can be feminine and strong, but I felt like it didn't align with me, since I was ''forced'' to be feminine by my surroundings when I always identified with a more tomboy-ish look and attitude. I'm into the gentleman/knight look in women. The only magical girl show I really really loved was ''Pretty Cure: black and white'' because I adored the main characters, specially Nagisa. Strangely enough, I'm into soft, elegant girls, but not for me. But I must admit that the movie from Card Captor was neat.
