Such a great concept for a faction. The idea of an extragalactic threat with incredible power invading the galaxy isn't anything new, but I don't think anyone has made a version of it that is benevolent before. It takes the trope and turns it around in a way that just...works. I don't know how else to describe it.

Endless Space as a game has a lot of flaws, one of which is that it becomes incredibly boring after a while. But man the Factions Designs, Artwork and the Music are unbelievably beautiful.

Well, yes, but while most of the other games from this genre will become boring after a few hours, ES2 is a regular time-travel twenty hours into the future :D At least in my case

Most games get incredibly boring after a while, the difference is how long is that while. I say ES2 can give you over hundreds of hour of entertainment before you start feeling burned out. (I made it to 400 hours before I put the game down for a long while) Amazing games that could be so much better if it only had some mechanics polished and better ai.

Das Institut yeah, I think the biggest issue is how predictable the plot of every match is. In the last third of a game I already know I’m going to win, and no-one can compete. There’s no intense political tension or close wars or desperate famines or whatever, in the end it just devolves to how quickly I can destroy the other factions. War fare is similar as even tiny battles are always incredibly one-sided. I’m not saying the game is easy, it’s just predictable. I “win” or “lose” far before the match actually ends.

I thought Riftborn would be like the UC though Riftborn are time masters and ended up sharing a lot of gsme mechanics with the other factions and didn't impact the lore so much. On the other hand the UC really brought another sense of unknown, intriguing and innovative lore with the immaterial theme and it did change the game mechanics to some extend but at the end the game ends up being repetitive
