This is the tastiest thing I've ever eaten! All gone in 1 minute. The family asks to cook them every day! Tastier than all cakes and even better than Napoleon cake!
400 ml milk (2 glasses).
skin of 1 lemon.
Heat without boiling.
4 egg yolks.
100 grams of sugar (1/2 glass).
30 grams of cornstarch (2 tablespoons).
Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Leave the cream to cool at room temperature.
200 ml cream 33% (1 glass).
30 grams of sugar.
Add cold cream and stir well.
1 sheet of puff pastry (250 grams).
Place in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 15 minutes.

Wenn man fertigen Blätterteig benutzt, kann man auch Puddingpulver aus der Tüte nehmen. Dann ists noch einfacher. Das Papier, in das der Teig eingewickelt ist, ist übrigens Backpapier. Das kann man dann einfach auch noch aufs Blech legen und braucht kein frisches zu nehmen.

Oh my goodness, Custard Squares! I have such fond memories of eating these as a child in New Zealand. They are totally a NZ speciality. Even the peeler is like ours, they are so good.Mine are over 40 yrs old and still working perfectly. This brings back so many delicious memories! They are so easy to make and so incredably delicoius!
