Yes, this game is extremely underrated. Im a casual gamer and never heard of it. One day, I saw it on sale at Amazon for lesser than 20 and just bought it without much expectations. Ended up spending more than 100+ hrs going through all the challenges. There's a good mix of Fighting, puzzle solving and rpg elements in the game and it just kept you wanting to go back for more!

I recently played through Fenyx Rising and liked it a lot. Not overly long if you focus on the story, but in usual Ubisoft fashion there's nearly an endless number of things to do scattered all around the map.

Ecellent game indeed. It was a blast to play and explore. The graphics are gorgeous and the writing is pretty good. They really managed to capture through writing, all the pettiness that characterizes the Olympian gods, while remaining funny and light. And the DLCs are good. Fenyx is a must-have even for players who like myself, don't like puzzle games.

This is one of those games, I keep thinking to myself "huh I really should give that another shot" then I install it, fire it up, play for a bit, and just put it down again and never bother coming back. It's happened repeatedly. There's something about it that I just bounce off of/am bored by I don't quite get it, as I love the hell out of BotW and Assassin's Creed.

Yeah well that happens sometimes. I did that EXACT SAME THING WITH THE WITCHER 3. So, I know from experience sometimes the third time's the charm in a sense. I owned it on 360 physical, Xbox physical and Xbox digital. Never played more than an hour until the third copy.

Just read the article and that looks like something that would've made me a fan. Less puzzles and more acrion/adventure. Seems like Ubisoft wants to milk Assassins Creed for all it worth, and then some. They'll learn the hard way that you can't live off of one IP forever no matter how popular. You need more--not to mention varied--IPs to sustain a healthy catalog.

I completely missed this game and saw it on sale recently but had never heard of it. I grabbed it and I ended up LOVING it! I was so surprised I hadn’t seen more of this. The mix of mythology and the BotW/Assassins creed mix of gameplay is perfect. Even on Switch it runs surprisingly well although it takes up A TON of space. I’m usually into more relaxing games, I don’t get a lot of time to play being a mom anymore but I’m so glad I sunk some time into this one. A great game even for 2023.

Just got the Gold Edition for less than 20USD on Nintendo eShop! I’m amazed about how much content there is in the DLC! It’s almost like 3 whole new games! Thanks for your thoughts. Helped me decide to buy it :-)

Really enjoyed playing the game. Was a blast. I started the DLC but didn’t finish it as I was puzzled out from doing all the puzzles. Probably pick it back up again to finish the dlc at least

I really like the graphics of this game (and the rest too), I prefer it over the super realistic style. I am still looking for a dark fantasy game with this graphics style.

It's a bit older, and not as cartoony as this, but the Darksiders series is pretty awesome and stylized well, if you haven't played them yet. What we really need is a modern Legacy of Kain...

You definitely should. There's not a massive learning curve unlike many new open world action games and the combat feels really satisfying. The puzzles are tough, but not impossible, and the story is actually much better than you'd expect. I highly recommend it

I finally bought this on the SW (Gold Edition) and honestly, its surprisingly fun. There are graphical issues on SW but I play mostly on handheld so its not really that much of a problem. Need time to get use to the controls though. A is crouch and Y is for dodging. I kept tea-bagging in combat.

It wasn't what i had expected, but wow it was a really fun game, if you like Ubi games, you'll enjoy this one. It's probably cheap now too. The mixture of combat, powers, and puzzles was awesome.

yes, it is been sitting on my external HDD for over a year till I got into it last month. 70+ hours later and my first playthrough was complete. most fun and enjoyment I've got from a Ubisoft game since PS3 Child of Light, and possibly top 5 best Ubisoft games ever IMO

I like this game ❤ bought it yesterday in the sale with all the dlc's for 15 euro for the switch. I'm not a super good gamer and had no idea what to do in BOTW. Here the quests are visible what I need haha. It runs really smooth, colors are bright, giggling during the conversations... And I love puzzling. weird i didnt found it earlier. maybe the title made me think it was a other kind of game. ❤i really like it

I played it using a free month of uplay+, thought it was ok. Liked the traversal, exploration and combat, but the huge amount of puzzles & platforming did start to wear me down. It would've been better if there was less of the usual Ubisoft map clutter/minipuzzles/collectibles. Skipped the 1st (even more nonstop puzzles) and 2nd DLCs (weird ARPGish mode). Enjoyed the 3rd DLC (asian themed minicampaign), in fact, I liked it more than the main campaign itself, as it felt very much like a standalone condensed main campaign.

I liked the game but I've noticed that cartoony graphics just don't keep me interested for long term. I prefer a bit more realism.I'm also getting quite a bit tired of all these numbers displaying in combat. Not sure why that has become an RPG norm but I don't like it. The UI should be minimalist as possible.

@@deadchivalry1698 Fighting and combat mostly, even climbing its better on Fenyx, the weapon handling is easily one of the worst aspect of BOTW, haven't played Zelda TOTK but ive read its a much better game than BOTW. I'll get it later

It's a good open world. If you play on controller, the default control scheme will take a some getting used to unless you personalize it early into the game. Also, make the most of your first playthrough.

I really liked this game, but absolutely hated one aspect... platforms in the air/invisible platforms. Without depth perception jumping puzzles were more annoying than challanging IMHO.

Just bought it off Steam, Winter Sale :-) . First wanted to get it on Switch, but I'm sure the 30 FPS (and probably frame drops) would get to me :-) . Gotta say, I don't mind the Zelda Botw resemblance. Compared to that game, what I already like is.......no weapons that keep breaking after 3 hits! :) . I just started, but I also think the humor is a fine addition, it's not over the top (like how the ruined Marvel movies by adding too much), like when he first opened a chest and did like a drum thing with his hands, I was lmao. And it is pretty.

Look, it was fun, but I don't think it was underrated at all. It was completely fairly and appropriately rated. It was rated entirely within the boundaries of what the game delivered. It was as rated as it could possibly be, for what it was. And that's me ignoring the fact Ubisoft, a mainstream Triple-AAA developer trying to pull a fast one with customers pretending they could get away with launching a mainstream product with the resources of one of the biggest studios in the industry as 'early access'. Shifty as hell.

A single player game should never have a pay wall for skins. Every skin in the game should be unlockable from in game achievements not with real world currency. This game’s Gold Edition is on sale for $14.99, but I’m waiting for it to become under $10. It just pains me to support Ubisoft in general.

Luckily in the past month I found it free on PC captain Jack Sparrow style. Gotta say with m0ds it’s much more playable. 🤷🏻‍♂️

cosmetic shops ruins the progression. you start with the best looking gear on, so you feel the same for the whole playtrough. stats and power is not the only reason people like gaming, they wanna see improvement and thats locked away by money.. i hope games in the future will get this and stop these money grab shops

I had the same problems with this game that I did with BOTW.....too many puzzles. If I want a puzzle game, I'll buy a game that's strictly puzzles. I want an adventure/action game. 😂

What killed this game was the dungeon puzzles! The learning curve for quests was reasonable, but the learning curve for the puzzles was like a hockey stick it can take ages to work out a puzzle, and the reward is so weak!

it wasnt then, it isnt now. It has puzzles inside its puzzles to unlock more puzzles leading to the next puzzle. At some point, it becomes tedious, and that some point is like 2 hours in.

3:37 Elias Toufexus never asked for this 4:20 no nut climbing 0/10 5:12 his voice is familiar, from either Valhalla or Odyssey, maybe Loki? 6:00 so it's a Ubisoft game 7:21 Talion, the Palantir! the best winged flight I played was Gat out of Hell, how the hell a standalone dlc got it perfect defies explanation 10:10 forcing a battleaxe cuts down on weapon variety and limits gameplay I wonder if the winged flight was originally planned as the "Wings of Hermes" for Odyssey's dlc playing this felt like going on a walk in the park with a burr in my shoe, the walk was nice but that burr kept nagging at me with every step

I watched my brother play a few hours, it looked fun for the duration but knowing it's an ubi open world I'm sure it overstays its welcome way too much

Zelda sucked and is a broken glitch pot I had master sword level one and dup glitch was boring . Graphics are always bogus to run on switch . But this game is an actual video game not some simulation trash . The combat , the lore , the wings 🪽 to actually fly with , the weapons , horses , potions , secrets with fun riddles , the arrow that travels u control is awesome , nothing breaks or loses durability, enemies are cooler , powers are cooler , horses are cooler , u have a bird that’s awesome , u can climb just about anything , can swim under water , meditate to make it day light for some chest , can throw rocks lol and orbs , I have both Zelda’s and they are absolute broken glitch trash compared to this . This is a amazing game . Ubisoft hit a grand slam with this classic .

The game is alright. Less bloated than recent AC games but nowhere near as good as BOTW. But in my opinion it’s not worth the time investment, everything is pretty good in execution but lacks ambition. Nothing in this game has any edge or interesting ideas to it. There are so many far more interesting games out there…

I only played the demo for a bit, but I just couldn't stomach the over the top dumb humor. There is nothing wrong with a joke, pop-cultural reference or 4th wall break here and there. But this game just waay overused it. It's just hard to get invested and take a game serious when the game itself constantly reminds you that everything is just a joke anyway.
