For me, BoTW felt more down to earth with Immortals being more high energy. Considering that Immortals is more of a hack and slash game, this makes sense. BoTW was less about combat and more about roaming and adventure.

The problem with Immortals open world is it's topography. It's over designed and way too much reuse of the same collinades/gazebos and parthenon looking buildings that never allows it to feel unique. Then added to how that design is implemented into how you explore, it is apparent how much of it hinges and relies too heavily on the first person inspection mode and compass. Try playing the game without the HUD and it becomes painfully obvious that exploration was never the point of the game design. Because of the vastness of Hyrule and how points of interest are placed and curated, despite it's size, you get a feeling of knowing where you are based on landmasses and topography. Places of interest have meaning behind them. It's harder to say that with Fenyx without heavily relying on quest markers and the compass. It's nice looking without the HUD, but it's unplayable without it. The issue I have with Fenyx is it gives nothing room to breath, and because of it, nothing stands out. Oh hey, look, cool, another Greek style gazebo. Probably has a useless pomegranate and minotaur fight again. The issue with Fenyx is it's just another UBI checklist game. Exploration isn't the point of the game, Breath of the Wild encourages it. BOW felt like a grand adventure the a 6 year old imagination concocted during the time of NES Zelda. The open world is as carefully crafted to promote exploration that I have not seen since Morrowind or a Piranha Bytes game. Fenyx, while good, is cartoon AC.

Immortals is miles better. I like that the map is more vibrant than BOTW, I also really like that weapons don't break. It's just a way easier game. BOTW is a bit of a weird game. It tries to do something, but doesn't do it well. Weapons break, but not gear. And stamina doesn't last nearly as long as it should. Who gets tired after running for 20 meters. As a smoker I can easily do 1km without issues. Now sure, you can spend orbs to get more stamina, which makes zero sense. They should've binded it to experience instead, as in when you run, you slowly increase your stamina.

In my opinion BOTW really isn't for everyone, if you enjoy experimenting during exploration or combat and enjoy a more calm, immersive experience, especially if you always go "Ooh I wanna see what's over there!" BOTW is your type of game, Fenyx is a lot more frantic and intense combat wise and downtime wise, I personally prefer BOTW though, its creative approach to combat that isn't just "this is better on this enemy." is a lot more fun, you can use the materials weapons are made of, the terrain itself (and not just for cover), lying objects, etc, it's really fun, but I can understand why people enjoy Fenyx more.
@SlightlyMisunderstood3 жыл бұрын
I somewhat agree. I like both games but BOTW can get a little too much at times. More distractions and easier to just get lost not doing much. Fenyx is probably more pick up and play. It is an excellent game. However it does require a lot more time which I just don’t have right now.

16:01 You missed out the fact that Breath of the Wild actually does have heavy attacks and parrying! You can hold the attack button to charge up an attack to different degrees depending on how long you hold it, and you can parry pretty much every attack in the game, INCLUDING the massive beam attacks that the guardians throw at you. Parrying the Guardians attacks gives you an excellent opportunity to defeat them very early on in the game since the only weapon that does any substantial damage to them is the master sword which you can't get for a good while. Also, in my opinion, there are two things that make Breath of the Wild feel like a much more enjoyable and endearing experience than Immortals. First off is how literally everything in Breath of the Wild absolutely oozes charm. Not just through animations and aesthetic design choices, but the way the AI acts. It almost feels like every enemy feels genuinely alive, making different choices based on their surroundings and current circumstances. The second is how Breath of the Wild has much more emergent gameplay, with individually unique mechanics and systems simultaniously interacting with each other in interesting and unexpected ways. It truely adds to the replay value, as so many of your encounters with the AI can be completely different because either your own actions, or the AIs actions, changed the environment in some way. This also extends to how the AI interacts with each other in some situations.
@mittens43853 жыл бұрын

When I first saw a trailer for Fenyx Rising, I thought it was some WIP footage. I didn't realize it was an already released game. It looks unfinished and clunky to me, like the character movements were for a game that came out a decade ago. For goodness sake, just the way the horses move in IFR is downright insulting. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood came out 10 years ago and if they can make a horse move more naturally there than they did in FR, what's Ubisoft's excuse for that? They even had more mane and tail movement than in IFR. I feel they relied too heavily on just the render capabilities and colour saturation to razzle dazzle you into glossing over the glaringly lazy textures and janky movements. You cannot compare IFR to BOTW. BOTW was clearly made with a hell of a lot more love and consideration to the overall ambiance and aesthetic of the game.

You don’t have to run forever to find an animal to ride around the map, in fact you get one during the intro and he’s always with you when you need him. 3. Your weapons don’t break and you’re not forced to use sticks to beat up the goofy looking NPCs. 4. The story is more familiar and simply better presented in Immortals. Zelda is a beautiful and stylish game, but it’s down falls can make for some very awkward conversations regarding the game.

One thing that immortals fenyx rising did that's safe would be the gliding. In BOTW if you ran out of stamina you'd plummet to your death. But in immortals fenyx rising, they have it so that you glide slowly down with your wings, safe and sound. Another would be the Perry system. In BOTW you needed to hit it correctly or you would not hit it at all. In immortals fenyx rising you had a little second or two window, and you didn't need to have a shield out to do it. Even if you didn't hit it perfectly, it usually would work unlike in BOTW where it was a lot less forgiving. Also, The taming system for your rides was a lot harder in BOTW since you needed to be a little more sneaky and also needed to have enough stamina not to get bucked off. Then you had to sign it up at the stables. And you couldn't call them in certain areas. While in immortals fenyx rising, you just had to sneak a little bit behind the animal, and then just click a button to insta tame it. It also automatically becomes yours without having to bring it to a stable. You can also call it at anytime or place for the most part. I enjoyed playing both games, but the puzzle designs and the combat I found was a lot more harder for BOTW compared to immortals fenyx rising. So I recommend ppl who are looking for a little more relaxing play to go with immortals fenyx rising. While the ones who are looking for more of a challenge to get BOTW. Imo.

Zelda actually left me feeling a bit Empty like it was just too much spread out emptyness with no real story or Dungeons from all the other Zelda titles. I hope they fix this with the next entry.. ? Fenix Sticks to a more story driven approach which I came to expect from a ZELDA game, so I really like Fenix more for this reason. Neither Game included actual Dungeons which is extremely disappointing in my opinion.... I miss huge mysterious Dungeons!
