I am so happy that since being vegan the last 10 months I've had no illness, normally I would have already had several colds and I usually get bronchitis a couple times a year, so far I've had none of that. So grateful for a plant based diet!!!!

Used to get hay fever every year without fail. Been vegan for nearly 2 years and hay fever stopped completely, zero colds, feeling great ... even though I’m a paraplegia.

I've not been sick for 4 years after switching to whole foods, plant based! Yay! I work in public schools & would get bronchitis, pneumonia, whooping cough, flu, gut health issues...(Happy dance!) plus I exercise now & spend more time outdoors.

Completely true. I used to get sick at least twice a year, but I've noticed I've gone the past year without any colds or the flu. I also accidentally skipped my flu vaccine last year and this year and still feel great since going plant-based

So true! Since going vegan, I haven’t been sick (and usually, I would get a cold at least once or twice a year). Of course, didn’t just go vegan, but whole food plant based.

I'm on a plant based diet but have gotten sick with the flu and cold virus successively. Interestingly it doesn't feel as detrimental to my ability to work as it has in the past. ie man flu levels of inability to do anything. My recovery is a lot better

If Americans would just eat better, we wouldn't all be wearing muzzles and hiding under our beds now. But people would rather wear muzzles than address the real problem. Throw drugs and fear at problems rather than actually fixing those problems.

why are all the vegans my age catching every cold and flu that floats through town while my keto friends pretty much never get sick?
@christopherdysart11367 жыл бұрын
The vegan friends I have are pretty "health conscious" and eat whole foods, or at least claim to. Three of them recently developed autoimmune diseases that they didn't have before being vegan, which is troubling. Also, the vegans I know are usually dealing with bowel problems, namely ibs, bloating, and constipation/diarreah and seem to develop more and more food intolerances as the days roll on. In your opinion, are processed plant foods or meats more problematic for your health and immune system?
@NVangN7 жыл бұрын
That's just anecdotal. There could be several reasons. It could even be your own bias that makes you notice it in the first place. I could say the same about people on ketogenic diets, but it wouldn't be any better of an argument against ketosis than yours is against a WFPBD.
@christopherdysart11367 жыл бұрын
Yes it is anecdotal. I didn't claim to be offering up a groundbreaking scientific study. And of course confirmation bias is a problem for everyone, even the most scientifically minded, objective people. But we are allowed to use our common sense and simple observational skills to start assessing the world around us. That is after-all the skill set that allowed humans to become the dominant species of this planet. I have read plenty of studies, gone through the literature, and made a few tentative conclusions there. But as far as real world applicability goes, I look at those around me. How are they doing? That has taken me the furthest and helped me feel and look my best.
@jean64537 жыл бұрын
Wow Christopher ! This is the fourth vegan video that you are writing anti vegan comments that I have come across. What is your fixation on this? Are you trying to convince yourself ,or perhaps are looking to make some money in the Paleo world? Or maybe you just hate broccoli?
@christopherdysart11367 жыл бұрын
I think you're getting a little paranoid there. Brocolli is kinda gross, and it digest like shit, but no raging animosity towards the little cruciferous here. And I'm here to help anyone that is experiencing major problems on a vegan diet. If that's not you, keep doing what you're doing. I've helped a lot of people really feel better by communicating with people on KZbin. The effectiveness of communication is hit and miss though. Sometimes I'm too abrasive. I would like to keep that in check more. And I do it for free, because I truly care about people.
