Thxs for the videos and the time you take to explain the gun. As a added note for others that own this gun, to shoot different pellets/slugs you WILL have to tune it to the pellet/slug you are shooting and also maybe adjust your scope. A lot of airgunners say the H&N Grizzlies are a bad pellet/slug, but I get them to shoot good in my Impact, crown, avenger, and hatsan neutron star. You have to tune the gun for each pellet/slug you shoot, and YES, it's time consuming but worth it. Just remember/keep in mind, that's why you have adjustable regs and hammer springs. That's what makes it fun also !!!

The Impact 3 is a complicated gun, but then I went back and looked at several reviews and figured out why my micro/macro wheel wasn't working. 1st off, it's the 2nd reg that actually controls the fps. I went back and re-set my regs, and I'm now getting the adjustability that you get in your reviews. This is my setup, 1st reg 160, 2nd reg 125, micro on 8 and micra at 3 and now I can get the different fps I desire. With this tune (25 ca 600mm barrel) power wheel on 16 I get 1015 fps, on 8 I get 970, and on 4 I get 945. My valve adjuster is on line 4. I did set the 1st reg on 170, and the 2nd on 135 and I was getting 1080 fps, so that's why I went with the setting I have now. (By the way I am shooting the H&N hunters/hunter extremes 28.20 grains). What screwed me up was the 1st reg. I was thinking the gun was shooting off the reg when it got down to 150. Didn't realize the gun goes off the 2nd reg, which also sets my fps. If I turn the 2nd reg up to 140 I'm getting 1100 fps. THE IMPACT IS A POWERHOUSE AND ALSO VERY ACCURATE EVEN WITH THE HIGHER REG SETTINGS.

Just got my .25, 700 mm, M3 a couple weeks ago. I paid for the slug tune with the 34.9 Nielsen slugs. First reg was at 160, second at about 130. After a couple shots the first reg dropped to around 130 too. It has moved around over the last two weekends (back up to 160 and down again) of shooting and accuracy hasn’t really been all that good. Just wondering if the first reg should be doing this or is there a problem? Thanks Mr. Rowe, love your vids!!

I had same problem with one of my 2 MK3's and my first reg was even swinging up and down whit out thouging the gun. Sometimes when i cocked the gun and removed the magazine I could hear a leak!! I have video as I could not believe and only when I showed video my reseller/NL importer believed it. They never seen this. my gun is gone for 4 weeks and no annswer. I believe this is vlave issue.

@@michel9381 I have been in contact with Utah Airguns and they have been very helpful so far. They sent me another 1st stage reg. I installed it and set it to 160 and was very consistent, that weekend. The next time I took the gun out of the case, the 1st reg was sitting at 200….I had not touched it. ?????? Still waiting to hear the next step for a solution.

@@Craizg35 In my situation the the air was flowing whilst not toughing the gun... Also the 1st reg is extremely light to adjust compared to other reg's I have on other FX's (crown). Two light fingers on the allen key.

I got FX Impact MK3 700 mm in 0.30 with slug liner from Utah Airguns, custom tune for FX Hybrids 44.5. I am getting 930 fps with Donny FL Shogun and the following Utah Airguns settings: Reg1=175, Reg2=120, Front Valve = 12 mm, Macro=16, Micro=4. I was able to increase velocity to 952 fps by following this video and ended up with these settings: Reg1=175, Reg2=125, Front Valve = 11.25 mm, Macro=16, Micro=4.75. I would like to know what else can be done to push FX Hybrids to 965 - 980 fps range.

Just turn your second reg up about 5 bar at a time till you reach your speed that's what I did as long as your first reg is higher you will be fine 🙂

My factory Setup was whit 580ccm bottle out of bottle 200 Bar,1st Regulator 152Bar Powerwheel on 15 whit 130 Bar, 600mm Barell 0.22 Cal... Vetile Between Bottle and Barell is on 4th Ring...

Ernest Great video. But I see you start at 150 b on the second reg. I shoot 100m match H&N .217 or ZAN .218 (very good) .22 - 23 gr with a setting of 150 b 1st reg - 115 d 2nd reg - macro at 8 and micro at 3. 700mm heavy barrel speed is avr 984 ft. dev 2.9. Would you advise to go up to 150 b 2nd reg and from there tune or keep low as I am doing now ...... I'm Looking for best consistency - accuracy

BTW when I measure speed I do 2 shots to "wake up" the gun and the next 5 are the measure..... as in a match they will count

If you are happy with that tune then leave it alone but if you want higher power then just turn Second reg up a lil at a time for higher fps just make sure your first is higher then Second reg .... I'm shooting 34 gr 218 javelin slugs at 1020 fps first reg is at 195 bar Second reg is at 170 bar

2nd/rear reg was stated at 150b i have covered the reg adjustment on pass video. All depends on your tune, for me I don’t like going over 150b and don’t like messing with the reg pressure in the way up and down as you know the reg adjustment screw has two 2x1mm oring thats a lot of stress on them if you adjust a lot. I can cover high and low fps with 150b so I don’t need to adjust the reg as much on the m3. The valve adjustment little over line 4 is when the C1 start to hit the pin with rubber ball backing that when you see speed drop at the high end now if your at the low end the C1 has less travel so you have to turn in the valve adjustment more for the CI start hitting the pin to drop the speed. In other words every time you change speed the valve adjuster has to be fined tune to get best performance

Good morning . I would need help to calibrate my fx m3 air rifles in cal. 30 I am using these sinkers (H&N GRIZZLY PIOMBINI CAL, 9 MM - WEIGHT; 8.2 GRAMS - 85 PCS). I looked for the network and since this is a new model and caliber there are still no parameters that must be used for the best performance weight, power and calibration of the air settings of the rifle. I saw that in the cal. 25 the speed was calibrated about 960! Does my ball also have to be put at that speed? Is that the speed at which you get the best performance? Mr Rowe, I am in Australia will you be doing a segment on the Wildcat 3 in terms of fitting the 2.5 power plenum and transfer ports etc, I believe the 2.5" power plenum is your design so be great if you could do a short segment on fitting it, reason is that there appears to be a few variants out there, some air tubes have a washer some have 2 holes to remove the back section, are they all the same when it comes to fitting the 2.5" PP on the MK 3?

At 185 and 150 I thought the valve adjuster no longer mattered?? I remember hearing Matt Dubber say with that amount of pressure the valve will close itself regardless of where it is set. But here I see Ernest still playing with the valve adjuster (and it seems as though Matt was right, it mattered very little. Thoughts?!?

Mr. Rowe, is there a maximum -- bar -- setting for the first regulator? In this video you state that the first reg is at ~185 bar. My owners manual recommends a max setting of 170 bar for the first reg. Thanks for another informative video.

In the manual its only a recommendation as a safe zone, as you know more reg pressure will have more stress on orings and the reg piston, i was showing how to tune at that reg pressure you can use he same processes at any given reg pressure.

We suggest keeping it at factory settings unless you need to raise your second regulator. Then be sure to keep the 1st reg atleast 30 bar higher than the 2nd reg.

Mr Rowe, I just got an Impact M3 700mm sniper with slug power kit in .22 and heavy slug liner . I want to tune it to shoot 23-25g slugs at about 960fps for hunting crows etc at up to about 100m. I am on front reg at 150 bar and rear about 110. That seems to max out at about 1030fps but I find I can turn the valve adjuster way past line 4, like 6 turns and still get a lot more velocity. I cant get the accuracy so far from hours of fiddling with the slugs that I was getting with it when it a was in .30 caliber with pellets. I have tried about 8 weights and different slug brands so far any suggestions please to make it better.

I found that the rubber ball from the slug kit will not allow the valve to be turned in so much. Was the rubber ball removed in this build?

The M3 has no rubber ball at the end of the spring the two rubber ball has been relocated behind the short pin guide.

Ernest, you are the epert along with Matt, so I need to know what may be the problem with my Impact 3, I have set it up just like you have, and my problem with my gun (25 cal 600 mm barrel) is my power wheel and micro adjuster doesn't really work. I can set the power wheel on 1 and I'm getting 900fps, PL 4, still 900 fps PL 8, 900 fps, PL 12, 900 fps. If I go on PL 16 then it drops down to 885-900 fps. On each level I shoot 5-6 rds to give the hammer spring time to settle but for some reason nothing changes. I sent the gun to FX in North Carolina, and the guy said he fixed the problem but the gun is still doing the same thing. Any suggestions that might help, or do I need to request another/new gun ? Only had it for 2 months.

He's shooting a 34 grain pellet, probably using a 25-28 grain will get you to 1100 fps. shooter 1721 gets 1050 fps using a 26 grain fx slug with a 600mm barrel. Check out his video on the fx impact 3. I think he set his 1st reg @ 190 and the 2nd reg @ 155-160.

@@precisionairgunninghunting6265 Yeah, 68 whiskey gets those numbers with his FX impact 3, so I guess it depends on how you tune your gun. My crown shoots 14.3 grains @ 1025 fps with a 380 mm barrel and I could adjust it to get more power. If I put the 700 mm barrel on it I get 1175-1180 fps. My reg is set @ 165. So I guess it depends on the gun. some shoot faster than others. I see where some people fps on their 22 avengers is 925 -930 max. My max so far is 990 with a 14.3 grain. It just depends on the gun. I'm getting an impact 3 today (FINALLY) with the 600mm barrel and I will update you on what it is doing in about a week after I play around with it and tune it. happy shooting in the future

Hey Ernest, any tips on getting a more powerful tune on my M3, I have M3 in .22 with the slug power kit installed but can't seem to get a 34gr slug to go any faster than 950fps ?? I've 1st reg 195bar, 2nd reg 160bar, micro and macro at 16 and 4 with valve adjuster out past the 4th line. I've seen other KZbinrs shooting 34gr slugs in .22 calibre at 1050fps but I can't reach those speeds? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sam

Maybe your barrel is too short? For these velocities you try to achieve you need a 700 mm barrel

Hi, the stock M3 has the two spacer already. I would install the pin probe if you want higher speed if you don’t need that extra speed leave as is.

Hi Ernest! I have a fx impact m3 .. I want to ask you a question that you understand about this .. When I adjust the weapon yesterday with a h & n 25g slug, I leave it at 930 fps and the next day it is not the same ... as if the weapon was deconfigured without touching it ... I tested it today and it no longer maintains the same speed and even 30 fps less and very changeable speeds .. I would appreciate a lot if you could help or know what it can be? the regulator and the air passage of the valve were fine but nothing was the same anymore. Thanks

You also have to account for ambient temperatures this can happen pretty easily in the cold or hot. If you tuned at 70 degrees then went out the next day at 45 degrees your going to see slower speeds. Not saying that’s what’s going on just something to keep in mind.

@@TheNickademas1 Thank you, yes, I knew about the weather but towards the same degrees or one up one down... In the end what failed me was the chronic one, I almost went crazy... a friend left me his and it's perfect... thank you all shapes.

I feel that was poor instruction. He didn’t explain clearly what he was doing and why and he didn’t clarify the setting as he went along. I don’t think I learnt anything meaningful.

Yes the FX Impact isn’t your beginners airgun and is a very advanced system . We do sell some very easy to tune a simpler models aswel 😉

Low 2nd stage: Ernest If have a MK3 leaking big time via valve. shooting JSB 18 gr .22 1st stage 130 2nd at 70b (69) Althoug the manual is showing .22 should run at 70 75 bar, the feedback I am getting from Krale is that the MK3 can not run 2nd stage at 70 bar!!! something is wrong here. Please answer and explain. The answer from Krale is just push it up to 100 bar is strange and basically avoiding a reg failure. BTW see more posts of people having this leak problem. Quality matters
