I was fortunate to be gifted 250 capsules of (pure as it gets) MDMA, in 1985, before it was banned. I spent a year explorng the MDMA experience, often blindfolded, at other times under the stars, and sometimes in front of the fireplace. Most of these journeys were with a dear friend, and we conversed with each other at the deepest levels. I was 31 at the time. Fast forward to late 40's and the awful awareness of how much there was to hate about the life I created for myself. I had become successful, wealthy and admired, and oh so painfully empty inside. What saved me from suicide was coming back to MDMA, because it had shown me what I needed to understand - that it's just about love, and that i could forgive myself

That's beautiful. This is the reason i want to try it. I don't feel empty but i have so much hate for the people around me that it's hard for me to live. My parents and my wife keep me alive, otherwise i'd be dead. I was given a few sips of water with mdma by a colleague at a team building and the sensation of not hating those people who basically only tried to outclass one another was beautiful.

I have experienced 2.5 yrs of Trauma. Losses and realizations have left me deeply depressed, deeply resentful and unspeakably EMPTY. I can't feel Love anymore. I KNOW MDMA IS EXACTLY what I need to begin healing , forgiveness of self and others and to maybe feel love again for myself and humanity. I feel like I'm dying but have zero connections anywhere for a clinical trial of MDMA or just some safe connection. No words for knowing this could probably save me.... but .... out of my reach . 😢

@@lauriecolaprete3460 yeah, i thought the same before indulging. I did feel good and motivated etc but just like with weed i think people are blowing drugs out of proportion. Maybe i didn't take enough since i didn't feel extremely euphoric. I was afraid I've taken too much. The personal experiences were all nice. I wrote and i drew, made plans for the future etc. I suggest you'd take it with somebody you know and trust but honestly, I don't think it would solve your problems, although don't take my word for it. As stupid as this might sound, i think we all need "god", and definitely not the god we've heard about in books, on tv or from the mouths of other people.

That is what this drug will for you though, you will become more open about things (not just whilst on it) and less afraid to show vulnerability. The second time I went with 3 other people and 1 person (the owner of the space and mushrooms) took care of us. The second time was even better, I have a new life now, no therapy in the world would have been able to take me where the mushrooms took me, and I healed :)

I can tell you that when you are afraid to take magic mushrooms, there is a trauma that you have not yet processed. If the trauma is opened in a session with magic mushrooms, you will experience a bad trip. During a mushroom trip your feelings are many times amplified. Anxiety is then overwhelming. It is better to deal with that trauma with the help of MDMA. Because a bad trip is anything but fun and also traumatizing.

During two separate Ketamine infusions, my mind repeated a few times the phrase, " you are now ready for mushrooms." I have yet to do a macro dose of mushrooms since those ket infusions a few years ago, but ketamine didn't do much for me. I've had a few g of mushrooms years ago but i guess not enough to go deep/break through... I haven't taken a macro dose of mushrooms for that exact reason that Huberman mentioned... I'm curious why it came up twice during my 6 ketamine infusion experience.

I subscribe to Huberman's channel, I love the guy, have the utmost respect for his opinion and always try to implement his suggestions for a healthy existence. I do this because I was a child of the acid house generation. I took so much ecstasy and acid (I still use acid today 35 years later) that self preservation has kicked in now but I also know what is true and untrue about these drugs. As such, I'd love to have an honest conversation with Huberman about it.

I am reminded of what the author Peter Matthiesson wrote in The Snow Leopard about his experiences with psychedelics: "Whether joyful or dark, the drug vision can be astonishing, but eventually this vision will repeat itself, until even the magic show grows boring..." "Lacking the temper of ascetic discipline, the drug vision remains a sort of dream that cannot be brought over into daily life. Old mists may be banished, that is true, but the alien chemical agent forms another mist, maintaining the separation of the "I" from the true experience of the One." -- Peter Matthiesson, The Snow Leopard, p.47. The point is this: there is no shortcut to enlightenment. It takes hard work -- it is the hardest work in the world. The psycho-active chemicals can perhaps point in this direction, but they will never take you all the way. I would rather make the commitment to do the hard work of meditation and service, than to risk a detour into a dead end, even under the care of a physician.

To that I would say "it's about the journey not the destination". Ralph Waldo Emmerson. You make a great point, we often try to find a quick fix, but at the same time I don't feel like "hard work" gets you there faster. Saying it's hard work to get there is counter intuitive, what if you work hard and don't get there! Enlightenment for me is fleeting, it comes and goes it is not a constant state.

Most of the time the post depression is because you have thrown off your sleep patter completely and destabilized your body. If you maintained your normal sleep pattern by taking it early in the day, you will have the opposite effect of feeling euphoric for a week. There’s also been studies on this Also don’t mix stuff or else that can also mess one’s psyche post consumption

I have not tried MDMA, but I'd have to imagine it is the perfect therapy drug to start with. I had an LSD experience that saved my life that ended up being entheogenic AND empathogenic simultaneously. I set the trip up to be therapeutic/psychoanalytic in nature. I don't think this would have happened if I didn't do an immense amount of research about set and setting. I've used LSD in other environments and not had the same results.
