impala ss and a 9c1 caprice are just about the exact same car..only the impala is lowered with 17" wheels a fancy spoiler and grille and has better interior... same exact engine transmission and rear end...I have a 94 9c1 and everything I buy for it is for an impala...LT1 350 with cast iron heads...much faster than a crown vic...but doesn't turn as well

Actually, even though the they are rated the same it isn't true what so ever. It is proven that the Impala SS was putting down around 300hp from the factory and had far better aero-dynamics. The caprice was a heaver, more police usable Impala with less hp from the factory.

1990 to 1999 the crown Vic made like 193 to 213 hp. 2003 crown vics make 242 Hp, so they were well past 200. 2011 they dropped back down to 239, so they were no competition for the impala. The impala made 260, but thing is it's a 1994 to 1996, so they would kick the crown Vic ass stock to stock. That's why I said they shouldn't even be compared unless it's the police interceptor which made 250 Hp.

+Pat Fehr ain't no Crown Vic making it that far without SOME issues. I beat the shit out of my bubbles and I never had problems on a regular basis. I can kinda agree with you on the interior being weak but I took care of my Caprices so my interiors remained intact. I replaced the tranny in my 278k bubble but that was after 200k miles. LT1's are notorious for having opti-spark problems but I never had that either. (however I know people who have) All of those other problems you mentioned are rare IMO.

I had a 1996 Volvo 850 glt non turbo and one day after class in college a classmate in a 05 p71 was in front of me at a read light turning onto a bypass. Once we turned onto the bypass I hit it and passed him once he saw me he floored it. I hit 145 since it was governed and the hole time the gap increased. The next day the passenger in the p71 also a classmate asked me if that was me and said that the could catch me and when I said it as fully stock it blew his mind. I bought an 02 crown vic interceptor for 2000bucks, and I drive it like an old lady. I found out that we both have alter-ego's though: The P-71 is an F-14 Tomcat fighter bomber (big and bad-ass and now an antique).....and Im the fighter pilot (forget the 2nd crewman). When I want Mach 2 speed, the P-71 insnt that great on take-off, but give it some room and it keeps on accelerating. If the terrain is favorable and you have the nuts, 140 can happen. They say top out is 127 but in KY....you can get faster with some help from terrain

actually the 9c1 frame is more stable and durable than an imp...Keep in mind these are gov issues vehicles...they built these cars so that cops have a better chance walking away from an accident...but 9c1s have an oil/trans cooler, heavy duty brakes double cooling fans silicone hoses (lasting a life time which are basically green water hoses) the rear is also different...the 9c1 uses a more sleek back axle that makes the left rear tire appear more inward than an imp...

how is it that he thinks he out ran the vic?!!!the vic slowed down for other cars amd then caught up with him and slowed for traffic again. shit I ran down a ss in my Honda accord, dude top out at 120,I ran up on him at 122!funny part is ,he had a head start.that look on his face when he saw he couldn't pull away from me😦
