The use of "ACK" was well-done, Naomi. I've done it many times myself!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊

Love the new imperial fist as well. Yellow is my favorite color, and also my favorite color to paint now.

I shall be using the phrase “don’t panic, just scream on the inside” on so many occasions now! 😂 Awesome vid - I really struggle with yellow coverage on the old Eldar so this is very useful - thank you❤️

Ive been using Contrast 2.0 - i love white scar primer. I have been using it as a base for fire/flames, then hit it with Zealot Yellow and Fire Giant Orange. Makes it easy peasy fire job

This was soooo helpful! Getting to grips with yellow seems so difficult. I've always been a fan of the sunset-mustard shade, rather than the sunburst tint. This looks like it'll be a huge help ^___^ Thanks so much, Naomi! This channel is such a treasure!

Really great video about yellows. Overall I really like the new yellows for contrast 2.0. I really like how it came out with the Lead Belcher as a basecoat. Really nice yellow/gold metallic mix!!

Hey, Naomi......what a treat today! You're painting up an S.Marine of my favorite and oldest 40k army! I have the Contrast paints but have not been brave enough to use them to paint up my new units, (Primaris Marines, Gravity Tanks, and Primaris Invictor Tactical Warsuits), to update my Imperial Fists Chapter. You made it look easy! I really like the extra technique tip at the end. I think I'll set up a small photo booth just for snapping those true light effects on the models), then transfer them to my large monitor in the hobby room to look at while painting. I have really enjoyed this video series. Keep on making that content! :)

Thank you for this. As a Bad Moonz Ork player, this will definitely cut down on the time needed to paint up the boyz.

Very nice! Yellow has always been a difficult color for me.

You're right, the camera makes the color look a bit brighter than in person. In person, it has just a hint of orange to it (not nearly as much as Iyanden Yellow), something like a yellow traffic sign in the US. Speaking of Iyanden Yellow, I liked that as a spot shade for Imperial Fist. Though an even stronger color, like Nazdreg Yellow or your mix, probably pops even more.

Thanks for the video Naomi! I've been wondering about Imperial Fists yellow for a while now. It really feels like this new batch of Contrasts is drifting further and further away from the 'contrast' idea and more towards being able to smash on coloured basecoats super fast.

That was great. I was originally doing Imperial Fists but as a new painter I got put off by Yellow and went Crimson Fists instead. Probably would have stuck with Imperial Fists if this paint was around then.

Looks deadly man. Also impressed you got such an even coat of contrast. I feel like any time I use it it goes all blotchy

Great video as always. I’d be curious to see if using the new formulation Shades as an undercoat before using the more opaque Contrast paints, like Imperial Fist, would add those shaded areas or recessed highlights we’re used to seeing with Contrast. Anyone try it out yet?

Thanks for the great video. I can't wait to use this when I do my 30k imperial fists. I realize now I have way too many things that are in yellow 😂

Personally I use Burnt Umber as a base coat for brilliant yellows and then paint yellow inside the lines made , that way no need to create shadowing effects, as the Umber does that for me. Maybe try it out yourself and see Naomi?

Did you add thinner to the contrast when you airbrushed it? It looks great!
@swordnsteele7122 жыл бұрын
I didn't, I used it right out of the bottle (right out of the dropper bottle I changed it to before airbrushing :P)

Better yellows: Schmincke Pro Acrylic Ink, Liquitex Acrylic Ink, Sennelier Acrylic Ink etc. They're all cheaper, have a higher pigment density, single pigment and don't really care about the primer underneath and ofc better bottles. And the best thing about them: GW doesn't get your money.
