So to be fair Perturabo Has been bested more than once I only knew about the time My boys the Iron Hands did it. I didn't even know who won the battle of tallarn until today. I just always knew it was "the biggest tank battle in history" Until the current record holder: When Perturabo tried to invade Medusa AGAIN during the 13th Black crusade! lol. @@nofuxgivens2797 And as a longtime gamer myself I appreciate your longevity in this hobby I also started in the 90's late 2nd early 3rd edition. I played Orks and space marines. I played Iron Hands long before they even had unique rules lol. But as soon as they did i started investing in the army more heavily. Only to have to buy all that primaris stuff... I don't mind i had plenty of time to save up the money i just wish the old marine stuff was as good Point for point and it just isn't... (except tactical troops, dreads, sternguard and vanguard) but all my predators and razorbacks and vindicators and land raiders barely see the table anymore... At least my dreadnoughts still make it, cheap as hell.

@@forgefathereli8354 that's a bit of a revisionist twist to what happened....the iron warriors destroyed most of the surrounding worlds and defenses before attacking medusa. They train wrecked a few of the mobile fortresses and would have won but Iron Hands got reinforcements. Abbadon and Peturabo disengaged before having to fight the reinforcements. I honestly am not keen on what the iron warriors and/or Peturabo did in the 13th crusade. I recall they retconned some of it. Chaos won...there is now more systems and worlds taken by them. cadia is gone. Comms and travel is cutoff to a lot of humanity now. As for the iron hands all I know is that medusa was attacked by traitor armored guard and they destroyed one of their mobile fortresses and by the time iron hands had fought back and won they lost most of the chapter.

My personal favorite obscure regiment is the Athonian Tunnelrats, the most 40k looking regiment, but you definitely should talk about the Penal Legions, they are a 40k mainstay, have a bunch of lore behind them, and the last chancer novels are hilarious. How about the Tempestus Stormtroopers? They kinda aren't technically an IG unit but kinda are, might fit in a miscellaneous video...

I posted on the 40k wiki about a Hypothetical Guard regiment that I came up with based on the Viet Cong. Their origin story was that they lived on a Death World much like Cretacia or Catachan where the inhabitants primarily lived in tunnels and bunkers but only coming out for hunting and gathering. They develop tactics resembling a mix between those of the Tallarn Desert Raiders and Catachan Jungle Fighters because they had to fight off an assault on their planet from a Death Guard warband. Unfortunately the community of the wiki assumed that they would be a complete copy-paste of the Viet Cong and said that that backstory was stupid because the Death Guard would win because "fear tactics" wouldn't work on them and the zombie plague would be too traumatic. I explained everything and said that the Viet Cong knockoffs would become callous and learn to shoot the infected in the head and burn the bodies, but the fuckers didn't seem to listen and said "a single Guard Regiment can't fight the Death Guard." It sounds like they're wanking the Death Guard a bit too much. I know they corrupt the environment but that's a given with Nurgle. If the Death Guard can be killed and sabotaged before they can take over it's fine. It's part of an origin story after all.

HAHAH thank you so much dude! If you're looking for more lore, PLEASE check out Luetin, Wolf Lord Rho, and Baldermort. The latter two are up and coming channels who do an amazing job. Rho goes into a lot of the smaller vignettes from the Horus Heresy, using direct quotes from the book and extrapolating on them. Baldermort has AMAZING voice acting skills and does a really good job of really bringing you into the lore on a ground level; you feel like you're listening to an audio book. Luetin, on the other hand, is the gold standard of 40k lore on KZbin. Here's been here forever and covers SO many topics that it's hard to encapsulate him in one thesis style sentence hahah. I'll also be covering some more 40k lore in the very near future, I've been taking a break from it to focus on some new gaming content, but I'll becoming back to it very shortly :) Anything in specific you'd like to know more about?

I think you can continue with some of the lore for the more minor regiments that are known. At least the ones with enough fluff to fill out two regiments per video, if not one per video. For example, here is a list of the regiments I think could have a decent sized video made about them: 1) Harakoni Warhawks 2) Savlar Chem-Dogs 3) Attlian Rough Riders 4) Maccabian Jannissaries 5) Terrax Guard etc. Two regiments per video (depending on the amount of fluff) I think would be enough for you to make a 15 to 20 minute video. There are a good number of interesting Imperial Guard regiments and it would be shame if you only focused on the ones that only have model ranges and never went on with the rest of them.
