Dante wanted to kneel to Roboute but he stopped Dante saying he was an equal to him. It's one of the highest honour that was given to Dante by Guilleman by the end of the Devastation of Baal book. He was even given the honour to lead the entire half of the warp rift Imperial forces if I was not mistaken. Dante wanted to die and rest for good as he had bled for milennia for the chapter and the Emperor but Sanguinius told him in his dream upon death after the battle against the Tyranids that he still has more to do. It was a very sad moment when he shout "father.. father, please let me rest.." in the Devastation of Baal. Dante is my most favourite Space Marine. The most honourable chapter master.

I really loved that book man - it was good on so many levels.. because it wasn't just like, "WE ARE THE BEST ! WE ARE SPACE MARINES!" it has that total Helm's Deep moment, where Dante thinks to himself, "we can win this if the shields hold." Next chapter... shields are blown. I really loved a lot of the quotes too - "Be not rage, lest rage all you become." so many good ones

@@italianspartacus the book was good, only the part with Mephiston seemed off to me like it was 'forced' to give the Blood Angels and all the scion of Sanguinius sort of dire situation and 'luck' by dealing 'first blood' against the Tyranids. I hated the fact that Guilleman always late to show up when he was needed the most.. I guess it was needed in order to get the galaxy split. Oh well..

Who else are the certain few to talk with papa smurf on equal terms? I think Kantor from crimson fist and Logan grimnar, or perhaps even Ulrik who is older than Logan. Papa smurf did say Russ was the only one he trusts deeply

@@NahtsWorld I think the few heroes or legends that could speak on equal terms to papa G is Bjorn. He's like almost 10k+ years on age alone. As you said, papa G only trust few people completely so Russ is one of them. The rest are those chapters that belonged in the Unremembered Empire. If only Sanguinius could be reborn like Fulgrim..

I'm honestly wondering when Dante will become a Primaris Marine. He's put a lot of stock in them. Black Library needs to do a series about him in the current lore. Call it "The Regent of Imperium Nihilus" trilogy or some such.

Sadly not all authors got the message about Dante being the oldest and had randomly Space Marines as old as the Horus Heresy show up. The whole thing about the long live of the Blood Angels is mostly a link back to them being vampire counts. You know back in second edition when everything in WH Fantasy had to be in 40k.

I’m really enjoying these 40K lore videos, as I’m pretty behind on it- I’ve been reading the Horus Heresy novels exclusively, and while I really enjoy reading them, obviously they don’t give me anything in the way of recent history. That’s where you come in! From your videos, I always get some juicy nuggets (mmmm....juicy nuggets) of lore that I’ve not heard before, and I get to binge on Old World Fantasy, which I’ve really developed a thirst for as well- so, thanks for the awesome Dante/Blood Angels video, and for the rest of your lore videos in general! That was a very interesting listen! I'm sure its not easy to pick the relevant parts from all the various mountains of lore, but you have a knack for it. Maybe in another life you could have been a great teacher. I was not really familiar with Dante before, but the fact that he bumbles, gets mad at himself and tries again makes him surprisingly human and three-dimensional. Hope you make these for the other Blood Angels special characters as well!

Dante has lead the Blood Angels longer than Sanguinius did, and in his chapter he has 2 marines that have beaten the black rage in different ways. Lemartes has kept his lucidity, and Mephiston has grown past it entirely. If Dante really put his head into the long term he has 2 pieces to solve the puzzle, but I don't think he can afford it at this point.

Dante is what drew me to the Blood Angels... he is an absolute beast amongst Blood Angels and more importantly amongst Space Marines. One of the oldest living and one of the most virulent defenders of the imperium, the true will of the Angels of Baal.

The Sanguinor was a terrible addition to the Blood Angels fluff imo...and in game Sanguinor has hamstrung Dante since he was brought in! It’s like they have to take half of the cool rules that Dante should have had anyway and given them to the Sanguinor...terrible shame...and, as the Regent of this side of the galaxy, in game Dante should get you 2-3 command points if you bring him in your list (like Guilliman and Calgar - I mean really if Calgar gets it Dante definitely should - have people including GW forgotten the 2nd war of Armageddon fluff?). This would be very fitting as Blood Angels armies are desperate for CPs! Aye, we are indeed the Angels of Death.

Spartacus my dude! As you are a Blood Angel Bruthaa at heart, How can you forget The Angels Vermillion storyline from the book Dante itself? That follow up to the Devastation of Baal? It spills a terrible reality for the Blood Angels, with only Astorath the Grim and Dante himself knowing the horrors of The Angels Vermillion and their bloodthirsty agenda and slowly falling towards the eight marked path. (All of this lies within the Novel book: Dante) I think you get some great points through in regards of things to come for the Angels, however the extreme dark discovery of the Angels Vermillion should be 110% a major concern and future story arc for the Blood Angels, facing their daemons once and for all. Before they are deemed traitors.

I would love to go back and read each story arc. There are just sooo many WH 40k books its easy to get completely lost in all the material. If you cant I completely understand. I wouldn't recommend a surgery as intense as the primaris upgrade on an over millennia old man. Dante's skin was even described as "thin leather" in Devastation of Baal.

I think at one point Dante will be forced to stand against the emperor, the issue is Dante respects the necrons which is technically heresy, I feel he will have to stand against the emperors will to help the emperor against his own self driven destruction

Thanks for introducing me to Dante. (Still new to 40k). I'm a Dark Angel guy so I know more about them than Blood Angels. Just saying though, the Hunt for the Fallen is pretty interesting to read about. Azrael ordering the mass execution of everyone on a planet because the leader was a Fallen, meanwhile ignoring pleas for help from the the actual people that called them. Honestly, I much rather the Dark Angels fight alongside the Blood Angels because Dante has worked with Necrons, so Azrael meets with Dante (Possibly with the Lion), the Lion and Azrael both tell Dante what happened all those years ago on Caliban(Dark Angels home world), they tell him about The Fallen, because The Fallen may just pop out in Dante's sector. Dante would probably be more lax about the Fallen thing, unlike Bobby G. Because remember The Lion didn't get along with all of his brothers, only one... Sanguinius, the Blood Angels. So imagine the two Angel legions coming together to fight a legion of Fallen with possibly The Lion coming back. I say possibly cause he's alive and on The Rock with the Watchers in the Dark. Sorry i got carried away. Keep up with these awesome 40k lore videos. Is Konrad Kurz next?!?!?! Oh and damn you read the Dark Angels codex, I should really start watching these videos fully before I comment lmfao. Told you there was some info in there for ya lmao

How can there be so many Fallen in 'legion size numbers' if most of them were killed when Caliban was destroyed? It's like there has been a slow steady stream of Dark Angels continually defecting to the Fallen since M31.

10,000 is legion sized numbers (thousand sons before the heresy) so supposedly they could pull that off. Remember fallen are dropping out of time from the warp.

he's not bad in TT! he's actually a really great glass cannon because he comes with artisan of war by default.. the axe mortalis is great.. also with the new FAQ - you can charge OVER units again. so he's pretty viable, especially because he gets re-roll ALL failed hits, not just 1s.
