I played this games as a kid, and I liked it well enough. I thought it was a slightly above average game. It's only going back with my older mindset that the charm of the game actually got me to classify it as good. I'm glad to someone give it a good, but fair, review. I've never even seen it mentioned before.

Oh, those crazy British cartoons! Wallace and Gromit, those are great films...Probably the best part about this game is how clever the gimmicks in each level look, like the many insane-looking obstacles that challenge the player to dodge them, or how you have to protect Archie in the ice levels. I also really like how true to the film series Wallace and Gromit themselves look, like in the intro cutscene, when Wallace speaks his mouth moves in the same choppy manner as in the claymation movies. And, of course, I just love the villain Feathers McGraw, just because he's from my favorite movie, _The Wrong Trousers_ ! Jolly good show, mate!

In a way, this kind feels like a "lost" N64 game, which makes me wonder if the middling reviews have to do with the fact that, at the time people were moving away from games like this.

Funny, I had been looking into several license-based 3D platformers on GameCube (this included), and I was surprised to find how many of them didn't end up as bad as initially thought at first glance, even though it seemed like they easily could have been. They turned out to be worthy of at least one playthrough, at least to me. I suppose I'll list some while I'm talking about the subject in case you're interested: Animaniacs: The Great Edgar Hunt Disney/Pixar Ratatouille Ice Age 2: The Meltdown Looney Tunes: Back in Action Madagascar Over the Hedge Ratatouille Scooby-Doo! Unmasked Taz: Wanted The Haunted Mansion

Great review! I never knew this game existed and I love 3D platformers. It's a genre that you don't see to much anymore and I think that is a big missed opportunity. Sadly this game is not compatible with the Xbox 360 but I did just pick it up for the Gamecube to play via my Nintendo Wii. Keep up the great work!

@MrWambo19966 жыл бұрын
It is widescreen btw :) But the lighting seems off in many places with my PAL-version. I find it so frustrating when people upload footage of 6th generation games in 4:3 even when there is widescreen mode available. They are probably just assuming that wasn't a thing back then :) Gets even better when they are stretching their 4:3 footage to make it fit the screen :D

@@implantgames Dude funny story about this game. I actually meant to get it at Blockbuster as a kid because I grew up on Wallace and Gromit. I remember being stuck for ages in the volcano level as a kid because of not knowing about the superjump. Once I got past that though it was clear sailing. Personally, while this one is more well remembered, I prefer Curse of the Were Rabbit for it's open world and exploration. I have more nostalgic feelings towards Project Zoo though since I played it so much.
@PumpkinSwag6 жыл бұрын
Funny, the footage of the first level made it resemble Ratchet and Clank because you collect bolts and get a gun early on. Glad this turned out to be more it's own thing in the end. It seems to be more of a puzzle-platformer. Love how you're covering more obscure games in this reviews. I never heard of games like Tempo until I saw your channel, and it gives me some good games to try that I would've otherwise passed off as generic throwaway cash-grabs. Keep it up!

Great review! I only rented this game so never beat it but I loved the charm that it brought. It really feels like I am playing through a Wallace and Gromit episode with all of its silly jokes and bad puns. The game itself is decent but I always wanted more from it. More things to collect, more levels, more upgrades which honestly is sometimes a good thing to feel. The game was good enough that I liked it and wanted to spend more time in the game world, the game is just too short!
@GavinsBazaar313 Жыл бұрын
The developers were rushed. Older builds and promos showed some mechanics and levels were scrapped tommeet the deadline, and the final level had to be rushed too, which is why theres a ton of dead ends and places where zoo tokens/secret levels would have been placed.

Also I noticed an ironic mistake. at 20:33 Wallace says "We're up to our knees in trouble you know and no mistake." whereas the subtitles say "in trouble now".
