@Coconut Pal well basically, thanos kept on replacing her body parts because he wanted nebula to be gamoras' "equal". and her fights with gamora weren't unfair, it was just unfair that nebula never won any fights, therefore leaving nebula with all of the cybernetic parts.

Part of it is simply basing it on already successful comic book stories, plots, and character beats. Feige's best trait is that he likes the original material and isn't just using the names while he tells his own new story.

Honestly, as far as overshadowed siblings go, I prefer nebula to loki. Don't get me wrong, I like loki, just think nebula is overlooked a lot....which is kind of ironic when talking about overshadowed siblings
@thatotherguy81384 жыл бұрын
Agreed. But Loki is an easy villain to focus on because he's cathartic to beat. Loki knows right from wrong, he knows good from evil, he knows what it is to be a "Good Guy" - and he chooses to do the wrong thing. So when he's punished, he deserves it and we all know it. And it's easy to punish someone who you know, and they know, that they deserve it. With Nebula, beating her is the wrong thing to do. Nebula doesn't know Right from Wrong, Good from Evil. She is twisted and mangled, and so defeating her is just adding to that twisted and mangled body and soul - in effect, when you punish Nebula, you're contributing to the evil that formed her. But you can't simply let her win, so it's a conundrum that makes conventionally defeating her unfulfilling, and makes you feel sorry for what you've done. Was it necessary? Yes. But was it Right? That's a question that is uneasy to ask, even more uneasy to contemplate, and will never have a satisfying conclusion. So it's easier to focus on Loki, and the MCU allowed Loki to be redeemed - not exactly the easy way, but certainly a way that was satisfying for the fans from start to finish. But what makes Endgame, and the MCU so satisfying, is that it also took the time and effort to focus on Nebula, and eventually did the Right thing with her. The Villain who knew Evil from Good came to accept and Embrace Good, even giving his life for it. The Villain who knew nothing but pain and abuse learned Good and Evil, and came to accept and Embrace Good in the end.

Even if we don't have a film with the full Guardians team after Guardians 3, I really hope Nebula sticks around in the MCU. Her character has grown so much and I'd love to see her go on a new journey, possibly to do for 2014 Gamora what 2018 Gamora did for her.
@anthonybranch47123 жыл бұрын
"You were the one who wanted to win, and I JUST WANTED A SISTER!" This is the moment that Nebula really blossoms as a character. It is the emotionally pivotal moment of the movie ("Holy crap, I thought this was just a screwball comedy, but Gunn just sucker-punched me with something SERIOUS"). It is also a moment in this film which really, and I mean REALLY gets to me (Don't even get me started on Yondu's funeral). There may be some personal reasons why, but I think if it doesn't grab you at all, then either you haven't been paying attention, or you really need your empathy-ometer checked.

Nebula's arc is a stealth subplot that goes on almost between scenes, but it's still captivating. At the beginning of Endgame, Tony Stark again finds himself in a situation where a blowhard and an insightful man are trapped together with no apparent chance of survival. Only this time, he is the one who gives guidance. And when they part, there are no words, just a glance.
