I love that Dick says in S1 how he doesn’t “want to be THE Batman anymore,” yet he completely acts like Bats in S2. That Wally and Dick scene after blowing up the Cave is great.
@Enja___2 жыл бұрын
You're completely right but this could've come from him actually needing to be in command after Kaldur's "absence". We see him completely risk the trust of the team and his leadership. Hell, he does it again in season 3, this time showing some remorse, but let's be honest, Batman was behind that for the most part

Frankly, it only makes sense that when Dick takes on more of a leadership role it only makes sense that, at first, he is going to fall back on the leadership qualities he has seen modeled most frequently growing up. He's not exactly comfortable yet, because he hasn't learned how to reconcile the role with the kind of hero he wants to be.

I remember liking this season but being very disappointed that Aqualad just gets "fixed" in a single episode. The situation that happened was the cause of so many issues spread around the team members and it seems like there wasn't really a long term consequence while learning the lessons (Megan to not abuse her powers in a way that basically lobotomizes the victims and some team members for not having enough trust with the rest of the team). Meanwhile Wally just dies after barely having any screen time for a decision he didn't even know the risks of.
@GamerSlyRatchet12 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I know M'gann deeply regrets her actions and the show sold me on that, but it always rubbed me the wrong way that she never faced accountability for her actions, especially since the show tends to punish bad actions by both heroes and villains. I would've liked her to step off the Team for a bit or keep her relationship with Conner as just friends, but pretty much nothing of consequence happens to her.
@Stargazer_Ley2 жыл бұрын
Wally knew the risks of being a hero. He also knew that he was slower, much slower, than the other two. It was foreshadowed in the ep that introduced Bart when he can't keep up with them during their converstaion and when they have to carry him out of danger. He showed up to a secret meeting where the League of Shadows would be present as well as other members of the Light. He's risked his life many times and knows that's the risk when putting on the mask.
@deadpool32782 жыл бұрын
Um that is the reason why Wally and Artemis wanted to retire they fully know and understand the risks of being a hero
@mustardwumbo99402 жыл бұрын
M'gann did face long term consequences -accountability- for her actions. After what she did to Aqualad, she was so shaken up by it she didn't fully read B’arzz O’oomm’s (Green Beetle) mind which allowed him to win the trust of the Earth heroes and assist the Reach. M'gann and Conner never got back together in season two. They were slowly reconciling with each other and expressed concerns about each other. It was only until the tie-in comics (Young Justice: Outsider - Torch Songs), that Conner fully forgives her, and eventually after that and before season three they get back together. The deep regret from her abusing her power can be seen throughout the rest of the series. When Despero took over the Hall of Justice, M'gann wouldn't brain blast him even though the team was losing. It was only until she cured Aqualad that she became somewhat comfortable with using it again. Even in the last episode of season 4, she can see her being apprehensive until Nightwing pushes her to do it.
@GamerSlyRatchet12 жыл бұрын
@@mustardwumbo9940 That's not accountability, that's regret. She was never kicked off the Team or the Justice League. She was never called out by J'onn, who also knew about what she was doing. She had more victims than Geo-Force, yet Geo-Force was written off by everyone.

Yeah I also thought giving him his memories and consciousness right at the beginning was a smart move by the writer. Through that they could have explored deeper themes involving what it means to be a human. But in the end, it's a reboot, it was meant to be cash grabbing.

Great video, but would anyone recommend Young Justice after season 2? I watched it quite a few years ago and never liked season 2 due to it feeling stuffed to the brim with characters and it feeling like the characters never got enough time like they did in season 1 due to that. Then I tried rewatching it again a few months back and I got through half of season 2 and felt the same way. Essentially, do the seasons after 2 cut down a bit on trying to have a massive roster, and go back to a more focused series? Or do they get better at juggling the cast?

Season 3 is definitely the worst out of all of them, they introduced a lot of new characters and tbh I could care less about them. Season 4 is a lot better because it focuses more on the original team and goes more in depth, kinda making up for season 2 and 3.
@sarfscarlet33282 жыл бұрын
Well. Personally, Season 3 introduced 5/6 new characters and it was not good, it reminds me of how the CW version of Supergirl was good..until it got on the network and went a bit woke. In Season 3, the only character that is somewhat okay is Tara, but the entire season just sucks in contrast. For example, Beast Boy makes a group called 'The Outsiders' to fight criminals in the public's eye, and I legit could not care less about it. There is too much time focusing on these new characters that make you go 'huh?' every time you see them, because their arcs are stupid. The only episode that has parts that are actually good is Episode 4, which is Dick, Will, Jim, and Roy going on a Private Security job and working through issues in a somewhat comedic way. (Reminiscent of S1 with S2 issues to be dealt with, AKA: Wally) Season 4, it gets better, but it's very confusing, but is great for any comics fan or fan of GLTAS. Season 4 is split into like, 5 or 6 'arcs', focusing on characters from season 1. Arc 1 is focused on Connor, M'gann, and Beast Boy as M'gann and Connor get married on Mars. Beast Boy acts like a complete jerk the entire time, and for the rest of the season. The rest of the characters are fine, but it sets up the main plot for the episodes going forward. Arc 2 is dedicated to Artemis, who is trying to move on from Wally, and having two former Los (League of Shadows) come to her and tell her that the other one is a spy. Arc 3, Zatanna, it's really confusing and you probably have to look up who certain characters are because they legit don't introduce them or are memorable from only YJ. It was somewhat annoying, and Zee acted like Batman. Arc 4 was Kaldur, and they subvert so many expectations, it's laughable how much they do it. It doesn't stay true to the characters motivations at all. Arc 5, was for Rocket, but Rocket wasn't the main focus, she was pushed off to the side. This arc mainly dealt with the Green Lantern Corps, New Genesis, and the Justice League, trying to find a way to manage crime and stuff over the universe. While all this is going on, there are the Legion of Superheroes trying to fix the timeline from a certain character screwing it up. Then there us the focus of mental health. Which, I mean, it's fine. But, what irks me, is the fact that instead of choosing anyone in the original team, they chose Beast Boy. So a lot of screen time is dedicated to him, and it results in basically nothing. The final Arc is good if you've watched the whole season and somewhat liked parts of it, which it was fun to watch. So, TLDR: Season 3- Problematic and bad. Season 4- Problematic and somewhat okay.
