Love this! I know it would be a lot of work but I’d also really appreciate a high key M+ walkthrough at some point. Idk if you’ve seen Neabsera’s dungeon walkthroughs but they really helped me learning disc. Sometimes I think I understand what a guide is saying, but seeing it put into practice global by global is hugely insightful!

HUGE aspect of harmony dots and it smoothes out the play style by helping you pace your TFT charges.

Mistweaver was one of my least played healers when I started my healing main arc. I couldn’t get it down and it felt too overwhelming. I found your guides and your stream around DF S1 or S2, and you’ve made mistweaver my favorite healer. You made it seem a lot easier than I was making it. Your videos are fantastic. And thank you for converting another healer to mistweaver lol

Thanks for considering@@Megasett ! For me it's tips for playing MW in raids. As for my own questios as examples: 1. How to choose a build. I've seen many permutations in logs from Peer Into Peace builds, nieche Sheilun's uses, Mastery Build in add fights. 2. Effective cleave heal and how to choose ramp times. I notice that Zen Pulse procs are huge in during ticking damage. 3. Any metrics to look for great MW Play when we look at our own or other people's logs? Usually it isn't needed unless there's a large ST healing check like a heavy DoT or heal absorb, or if you need the 6% DR from Elusive Mists to survive a 1 shot in higher keys

Meg can you explain why fistweaver isn't good for raids? MW is my main alt, 624, just for some fun outside maining dk dps. I found it super satisfying to play, doing some chill keys (7-8s, aiming to get all 10s). Found your guides very helpful to understand MW, but that one thing is missing. Im 2/8m, did whole HC and those two myth bosses fistweaving, and i had a blast, didnt fall behind other casting mw's (630ish). So what am i missing 😅

The only macro I really do use is TFT, and MT people have asked me why and that it's bad, but I like to do it because, when I do press TFT, I also get a little mana back on top of getting my procs

As of 11.0.7 Fistweaving and Spellweaving Specs are still things. First weaving deals a majority with your melee skills using ancient teachings, where as spellweaving primarily deals with Soothing mist splitting and Enveloping mist spam, both are extremely viable specs this first patch. So to say that people that still refer to having different specs don't know what they are talking about is quite the insulting thing to say.

All builds use our melee abilities and our casted abilities (even SooM). Speaking from experience, using terms like this to try to divide the spec make it more confusing for everyone because everyone has their own definitions for it, which just make it hard to understand what exactly you're talking about. The spec is Mistweaver, and while there are different viable builds, the terminology (whatever-weaving) is unhelpful and vague. It's better to use specific talent names when discussing playstyles/builds.

​@@Megasetti play recommended m+ build when going for +12 and up, but its also alot of fun to go peer into peace or what its called and heal mosly via casts while doing dmg from range with rushing wind kick. So while i agree you need to be in melee to be most effective, i also understand that someone seeks a ranged (may god rest my soul) mw. Mw is the only spec who plays like mw. When ppl say play a different healer if you want ranged i honestly cant think of any healer that to choose instead when i feel like to go ranged and chill in some +8 - 11

​@@Megasett Meg, I get what you mean, it was the way it was said in the video, for me personally, I do still use the language Fist Weaving and Spell Weaving. I get that the new meta build is mostly a melee build. but there is still the one build that uses Soothing mist split with enveloping mist spam, that doesn't use any melee attacks nor jadefire stomp, everything is ranged.

I dont know, I play casting Mistweaver and I do just as well. Not sure exactly numbers, but I run the same content and this. Not sure why all the hate for casting. I don't notice differences when I melee or not.

Casting is not ranged, but you do not receive the same mechanics as ranged classes. Not contributing damage or kicks/stops is not something I'm going to recommend. In some instances you may also be baiting melee mechanics onto your ranged party members.

I definitely disagree on your stance on "ranged or other gimmicky" builds/bad advice. I think that the beauty as of 11.0.7 is that there can be multiple builds that work. In raids we're practically casting anyways and the talents help support different playstyles. If that wasn't the case there wouldn't be talents that provide that.

Casting does not equal ranged. We are characterized as melee when it comes to mechanic assignments regardless of the talents we pick, the exceptions are things we're excluded from for being healers (more common in raid than m+)

JE is kind of gimmicky though isn't it? It's the reason to justify MoH and MoH is holding it up and the dps from mw with this combo is like the validating use to even bring them to high keys. I wish blizzard gave us more alternatives. I love dance but it's worse in single target. I hope the changes to gusts mean I don't have to run CJL/JE. I talked to you in dorn about it. If i can't cast JE while moving I don't really want to play it. And conduit lets you cast utility spells while channeling. Including interrupt, dispel, leg sweep, rop, para, defensives, and probably some others I'm not thinking of. I would like for conduits damage reduction to get tuned up by 5% to 20%. It has some synergy with dance of chichi and the jade wind talent, which I imagine is intended by the developers, but it's not like anywhere quite as good as the synergy between MoH and JE. It's also kind of hard to fit in the jadewind talent in the mw tree because so many of our talent points are tied up in essential things that just make the spec function. Like can we just get jadefire stomp as a default ability instead of having to put a point in it? Would it really break cast weavers in raid to have it and none of its supporting talents? If I had 1 or 2 extra points in the spec tree I would be sooooooooo happy. IIrc firemage had this issue with flamestrike for a while such that it gave up way too much to talent it and because of what they had to give up to try to validate flamestrike was such a dps loss, they just ran their single target and did ignite cleave. It did more damage. And blizzard fiddled around trying to fix flame strikes position in the tree and consolidate its talents before just giving it back to them as a baseline spell they have without need for a talent. I remember fire mages that season had to change their talents frequently between flame strike with flame patch to no flamestrike at all to flame strike just to have back to no flame strike at all. Why can't jade fire stomp similarly be something that we do? Can wind walking aura get combined with jade walk? Wind walking is in such an awkward place in the tree imo. It's only 4% movement speed should it really be that deep in the tree? You'd know better than me ig but it just don't seem right to me.

JE is designed to heal through AT and is meant to be a supporting CD. I meant gimmicky in the sense that someone is claiming a build to be better than average and also something that it isn't designed to be (like ranged builds, since we can't really be ranged)

@@Megasett AT? Not sure I understand. I do get what you mean about the ranged thing I've seen mws with soothing mist and strange talents in low keys on my alts. It works in low keys ig. Will the changes to chichi allow me to continue fist weaving without JE? I am not fond of it and feel like MoH is unintuitive while CotC feels like it gives me more mobility, damage reduction, can be channeled through silence, and one of its talents synergize with Dance. I'm going to try JE again next season and I use it for CoT currently but if I don't feel like I just need more healing in single target I prefer to run dance. It's more fun to me. Seems to me kind of like blizz doesn't want to have a realistic alternative for pushing tho since they made no changes to dance so far for next season, that I know of. I don't understand why dance can't be more effective in single target? JE made CJL an aoe talent, and they made it more effective in single target, so why can't they make dance more effective in single target? Prolly would need to ask blizz ig.

She literally said it in the video? Your rotation is meant to be fluid and adaptable depending on mechanics/procs etc. Why would you choose to lock yourself into a fixed rotation in a sequence macro when the scenario in front of you might call for you to do something different
