Here in Spokane Washington in the inland Northwest we cannot drain our equipment outside because it will freeze the whole line and back up into the house and cause problems. It is 100% absolutely OK to drain it in the washer box drain. As long as it's on top of the P-trap it's fine

Thank's For the comments. I just wanted to let you know that on the other side of the heater they had about 10 more feet of pipe no trap. My point with this configuration is that water was laying in the condensate drain line and pan at the coil and was over flowing into the heater. In addition the humidifier should not be drained this way. Were this home was located the township does not allow any condensate drain line to discharge into the sewer system. The bottom line they had to fix it.

0:50 if that condensate line is "a good 20' long" then the spacing on those studs would be 32" That line is 10' maybe.

Without a costgard condensate drain seal, every drain line is incorrect

Well first off I would like to say that drain line does need to have more tilt on it and as far as it going into that washer drain there is nothing wrong with that, where we live there are a bunch of houses that have that drain in the washer line and no problem. I would not the a/c line to pump outside because the ground will stay wet where that tube is at.

Is all the PVC in an effort to use less tubing to the drain ? or have it closer to the outlet ? I really tried to see the thinking behind this set up, holy crap ! weird..
