@@yaboyskeet634 I never had the XR1000 GT but the GT Ax11000 is fantastic, Yes I've had lag here and there but it depends on your internet service, But hands down the GT AX11000 is the best Gaming router on the market, But i would hold off for now because Asus is releasing there new model the GT-AXE11000 which is set to release at the end of this month.

The nighthawk xr1000 is good but I had to buy a modem for it to work I just chose the Netgear CM1000 modem off of amazon. I only had a standard Xfinity router with no modem, that was issued to us when we bought there services.

U could of put the xfinity in bridge mode and would of just acted as a modem. Then connect your router to that modem. That's what I did until I brought the same modem. Save 14 dollars a month tho.

This is a wifi router not ISP, your ping depends on your ISP quality. This one is good if u got internet to your ps via wifi but nothing compared to a direct connection

Why do I need the router if my ISP spits out 100mbs which is what I'm paying for? Ive got the xr1000 but I only get the modem mbs which is what I paid for!. If you can help clear some things up. I'm afraid if I pay for a higher pack and the router only spits out what I paid for!

Asus being in the game for years I had both router b4 asus with out duma os u are right u won’t see any difference at all asus u don’t have to do anything to the router to have a good experience net gear in the other hand u have to mess with the router to get the ultimate experience.asus router I can joint any body and I still get to be hose that’s how good the cuality is no way in hell u get to do that with duma os .in fact if they are aout of range yuo won’t be able to joint .

The Asus is a triband router with a higher spec hardware. It should have better coverage but things get murky when you start to look at the throughput which is dependant on a device that uses WiFi. It’s also a fairly old chipset and some prefer the specs on some of the latest routers from Asus but of course the same applies to them when it comes to throughput. Both offer different software so it’s a case of looking at your network and what suits your needs. The XR1000 is based on the RAX50 so it’s mid to low tier hardware wise.

I don’t know if you can solve my issue or not but I got fiber like probably 3 or 4 weeks ago right because it this became available and I got the 1gig plan and I was this using the gateway for probably 2 weeks then I decided to test the xr1000 with the gateway and at first everything works fine all the features are working as they do geo filter is working no issues but maybe 24 hours later or sooner without any warning the led changes from a white led which means everything is functional and working properly to a steady orange led which makes it to wear I can’t connect to the internet what’s or ever no matter if I’m using a wireless connection for my phone or a wired connection for my ps5 if you have a way of fixing this issue that would greatly be appreciated it sorry for the long paragraph this had to explain everything that’s going on currently

Push the reset button on your router, if that doesn't work than push the reset button on your modem. Than follow steps on the app to setup your router, took me awhile but it works great!!

If you got a modem router combo from your internet provider then put that into bridge mode n then use your own router connected with an ethernet cable.

If anyone can help me. I currently have the r8000p with Cox gigibit I have lik 450up and lik 50 down and around 24plus devices wireless connected. My Xbox is connected via Ethernet but I have a slight lag every single game basically running and skipping ahead lik every 3 min. I have my nighthawk connect to my Cox modem which is in bridge mode and qos enabled to prioritize my one Xbox. Should I upgrade to this and will it actually help

The hardware should be fine, it’s a mid to lower tier AX router and based on the RAX50. 3 core cpu but one core does the DPI. It’s unique feature is geo filter which needs games to be compatible. Their R1 when launched gave users the choice of servers but as games and servers move forward that feature is not always fully compatible ie, it hates peer to peer and server positions are held on a data base for games like COD.
