I use to work with representative of Netgear, Linksys, etc and I’ll never forget being told that these companies add antennas not for performance but for marketing. Consumers tend to buy modems and routers if it looks like a spaceship with more and more antennas lol

Just bought the XR1000 today to replace my r7000 nighthawk AC 1900. It does see more of my 1gb service at 800/900gbs and puts it out to lan; my r7000 would not put out more than 230Gbs... but it's speed vs distance is the same as the r7000, same 5G speeds at same points in the house. Disapointing for $300. Looks like my kid will have the only speeds close to 1Gb in the house for his gaming LOL.

Let's say that my ISP (T-Mobile) doesn't let me use my own router. I have 900/300 Internet and I thought about setting their router into bridge mode and connect XR1000 with dumaOS 3.0 behind my ISP router. Would Net Duma features still work?

How much better is this? I live in an apartment complex and the bandwidth is shared between everyone connected to the MDU. Is it really that good? If its for a few mili seconds I dont think is worth it.

Pings locally are usually 1-2ms or less regardless of wired or wireless so it's just a gimmick. Like telling people they need 1gig for good pings.

Support wise WiFi 6 will be supported longer. The XR WiFi 5 is knocking on a bit and the XR700 and 300 are no longer manufactured so support will end at some point meaning no more security updates. That said the XR1000 is based on the RAX50 and I’m wondering if we will see a higher end router with Duma.

Copy pasting this to every Nighthawk X1000 video i find, i have 900mb down, 40 up. Dual PC setup. bought the router to prevent packet lost, using cat7 cables. I play valorant with a goal to Radaint, and content creation. I stream. upgraded from cat5 to cat6 to cat7, I still get horrfic packetloss 5-10+% sometimes 15-20%, bufferbloat ratings that change from A+ to B to D random days, ranging from 90,80,70,60,50,40 and 30% QOS settings in DumaOS at random intervals with download and upload, streming or not streaming. I have done every single network congig i could think of over 2 years of troubleshooting. Logically I am lost as to what I can try next. open to new solutions thanks.

Absolutely, if you have a stronger router, you will for sure get better signal strength. Depends on the home as well of course in terms of size
