This is a great video, Mr P. Love it. Snake roll pick up & the SP Flick, got it. Just need to check my medical cover and buy a helmet. 😂 Always so much to work on. People are going to wonder why this bloke is watching videos on his phone on the river. Nice spot, too. Cheers PP

I gotta get some lessons, I'd never have considered those aspects, hence my catch rate ! Great stuff Steve, cheers for these pointers.

I use snake roll most of the time its very effective. If you are wading you have to be able to roll cast. I like your flick !!

Yeah I don’t know how people manage to fish in moving water without the snake roll!! 😆

Great tips. I used to .....okay sometimes still do when I'm excited....rip that fly up and even hear that pop sound as the fly "corks" out of the water..... That sound usually tells me whoa.....easy....watch what you're doing.

Thanks! Yeah it’s an easy mistake to make…. ;)

A roll pick up works better especially with more line in the water as it lifts more line and higher.

Thanks, do you mean when it's directly upstream of you?
@Scoopster3 күн бұрын
@@PeachyFlyFishing Yes for upstream and across and up dry fly. I also use an aerial snap T, single Spey or a snake roll when down stream depending on wind direction and strength. All will lift the line without ripping the water and allowa quick follow up cast if needed. It helps to have a triangle tapered line like an. Airflo Tactical these resemble Scandi tapers and roll cast beautifully while land dry flies gently.

Nice! Yes I use spey casts sometimes too, a bit beyond the scope of what I wanted to cover in this video though. Very useful casts in dry fly fishing though for sure. Thanks for this info, I haven't played with the aerial snap T, will have to have a go at that. :)

The first thing you do is don’t stand in the water when fishing creeks and streams!!! That’s the first thing when dry fly fishing. Lol
@PeachyFlyFishing3 күн бұрын
Haha! Yes sometimes that’s the case, as soon as the water is moving and has a bit of ripple though it’s surprising how close you can get to the fish. And getting into a better position can make all the difference to your cast and presentation…… thanks for watching! :)
