Question of the Day: What'd you do last weekend? My answer: I played board-games with friends and went to the theatre to see a play.

Last weekend, my brother his wife and me have nice weekend together, we went to Golabdarre, this name means rosewater valley, a stunning place in north of Tehran, we cook and eat breakfast in the nature, then we did hiking in the mountains after that we captured pictures, on the way back I was a little bit care less and I fell once on my hip, hopefully I am well.

Thank you very much for this video. it's really useful Can you recommend other videos similar to this, yours or someone else's? Since we can probably find them, but I consider that the most important thing is to have the explanation and the subtitles to be able to understand. Sometimes I have seen some movies and even with subtitles I do not understand anything

The pronunciation "musta" in negative form, would It be "mustna"?
@JeNsJyugyou3 жыл бұрын
Hi Humberto 😁. Thanks for your question. Some people would pronounce it as you've written, sort of like mus-in-a, although personally I and many Canadians would say must not have as 'mus-na-da'. It's hard to accurately capture the informal contraction through writing alone, but I hope that helps. 🤗

Teacher Jen your videos are amazing , why did you stop making more videos?
@JeNsJyugyou3 жыл бұрын
Hi Martin ☺️. Thank you for your kind words 🤩. but, I don't know what you mean... I've never stopped making lessons and have been uploading videos twice a week for almost two years now, I've only missed about three uploads during this time 😁. Here is a link to my most recent beginner level lesson which I uploaded on Monday about online shopping English expressions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6Gtm2WNjb6miKc and a link to my most recent intermediate - advanced lesson which I uploaded last week about communication collocations: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXi7i41tm89seq8. I am also currently editing a video now that will be uploaded either late tonight / tomorrow. To make sure you don't miss any lessons be sure to subscribe and make sure you hit the bell icon for notifications. 🤗

This video made me feel very old. I had trouble understanding you on the phone call. I think my generation may speak more formally.
@JeNsJyugyou5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. ❤ Don't feel old! I don't think it's just a generation thing as often the more educated people are, the clearer or more correctly they speak. 😆 I created this lesson as a former student of my requested it and I really had to think and focus on using some of the informal contractions. "Jeet" as in 'Did you eat' is actually one of my favourite informal contractions though because when I was speaking to a non-native speaker and quickly asked them, 'Hey, did you eat yet?', they literally asked me later what the meaning of 'Jeet' was. 😅

I had problems without subtitles 😕 and I can't catch some accents
@JeNsJyugyou4 жыл бұрын
There are many different accents in English, so it can be challenging to get used to new accents and ways of pronouncing words. Don't worry, many people feel the same way. However, the more you practice listening, the better your English listening skills will become. I recommend watching one of my lessons that you haven't seen yet, and cover the bottom of the screen so you can't see the subtitles. See how much you can understand that way first. Then watch the same video again with the subtitles and see how well you could make out what was said. I am confident that the more you do this, the better your listening skills will become over time. Thanks for your comment and good luck with your English studies. ☺️
