I’d say control what you can control, that’s the key to conserving energy and stamina. There’s nothing worth dying over a game while stressing your body out before cardiac arrest or full blown fatigue.

I remember I used to be good and have fun playing with my friends little football games. Once I joined my school’s football ⚽️ team I was excited to play my first match. 5 mins of running around in the game I wanted to faint. It was different Bc now it was a big field with strong opponents. After that day I stopped playing. 2 years later, now I’m starting to train and be more disciplined with my diet to have more endurance during games. Never give up

for the suicide one, each training session our coach would make us run two sets of suicides (three is someone slacked off). Everyone hated doing it but man did it work. He would always tell us at halftime/fulltime to look at the other team. They were sitting down and breathing super hard, while we looked ready to play another full match. Thanks to this very unpopular drill, we were able to go completely undefeated for TWO SEASONS IN A ROW. The main reason being, in the final 20-30 mins, we were still sprinting our butts off while the opposition lagged behind us with tired legs. And all of that happened because of the dreaded suicides. Never underestimate that drill's power Edit: if anyone has any questions for me please feel free to ask, and I’ll answer them as best I can 👍

@@saiful8633 we didn’t use cones. We used certain lines on the field because we ran full field suicides. It was murder but it worked like a charm

If you set up personal goals for yourself and have in mind always (even in daily life, trainings and matches) you will see an 100% improvement of yourself . Just fix goals, give your best, stay focused, keep working and you will see that with each day, you’ll become better and better !! Hope it helped.

I remember being an academy player since i was 6 till my 16th stopped due lack of interest. Didn’t want to play football anymore since my heart was more into programming ( had a fight with my dad because of this) anyway so i’m 25 now haven’t played a single minute ever since decided to play again after a long break. I’m playing in a friends team in one of the lowest ranks. So had my first game recently oh boy!! I was like how could i even train 3 times in a day 9 years ago now i can’t even run longer than 20 mins and my legs already give up. I lost everything like my pace, my touch and confidence on the ball. Well just enjoying the game now in my current state don’t expect to get back in form as i used to play when i was younger. Just wished i didn’t quit instead i should’ve played in a lower ranked team to enjoy the game. Knowing you could’ve done better but can’t do it anymore sucks..

What you eat before a game can have an impact. Don't consume anything an hour before playing or you'll be digesting as you play. Try to eat some fast digesting carbs about 2 hours before you play to fill up the glycogen in your liver and muscles. Consider consuming a meager amount of salt either before or after you play to replace what you might lose during a match. Milk is great for building muscles and contains B12 and essential electrolytes magnesium and potassium all of which help with energy transfer, I'd drink before and especially after, at least 330ml. Final suggestion, a cold shower will stimulate energy release and will 'wake' you up, if you need it. All these things have helped me get the most out of my match play and I am in my 50s.
