Red LED’s embedded in STOP signs are also available including a solar panel to keep them powered. My town has purchased a few BUT the engineering dept says they’re very expensive. The flash rate on those ⬅️ arrow signs is much too slow, that is the off time.

Streetlights would DEFINITELY be the best solution BUT finding a municipality willing to pay for the electricity even with low power LED’s is extremely difficult in rural areas. They often have few streetlights even on the town’s roads!

if you got to run wires for the power anyways wouldn't it be more reliable if the sequence would also be controlled via cable? I mean - running 2 cables more wouldn't make much of a difference in installation costs...
