Go red - fully embraces the design and inherent “loudness” of the car. Black looks best IMO but hides too much of the details. Alpine white and Grey are fine but not all that exciting. Just my thoughts. Can’t wait to see what y’all do with this one!

Guys I don't know what to say honestly. I had a f80 m4 competition and swore up and down that I would never get a the g80 m3 or m4 because of the grill. Well fast forward to today and I took delivery of my 8 month wait order of a g80 m3 isle of man green. Bmw makes game changing style and engineering moves and because of that I'm withholding judgment on this car until I see it in person.. in the wild.. on the streets. Ps. The grill has grown on me and I love the aesthetics, especially in isle of man green with the tartufo interior.

What is baffling is that it weighs essentially the same as an m4. It, like you said, is literally like a dimensionally smaller m4. It should be at least 200 pounds lighter but it isn't.

Once it’s put on the road it will all make sense I suppose. Spacers, some subtle changes etc, out of my price bracket so I will still be on my back in the garage under my e46 m3.

Agree 100% about the rear bumper. Front is livable. Would love to see you do a modified rear bumper, in white, DTM style car with DTM BMW M decals or wrap.

Looks aside, at 1,700 kgs why are people so excited? An AWD version would throw another 50-100 kgs! From a looks perspective, the 1M is a much better looking car from any angle and it’s over 10 years old. The new M2 spoiler reminds me of a Honda Civic. For your build, I would choose the black.

I think the looks will grow on everyone, even those who hate it. Having absolutely hated the new m240i - and I mean hated it, and then seen one in real life with the performance pack, I completely did a u turn. I didn’t love it, but I thought it actually looked pretty dam good in the flesh. So I have a feeling the same will go with the M2. It’s not beautiful, but it’s got a little something as with anything radical. The M performance trims actually look good, almost has a GT3 R/S vibe - track only toy.

I still don't like the M240i. The only BMW that looks good for 2023 is the M340i. They peaked with the M2 CS. That's the best looking manual I've seen in years.

Great video, I am liking the new M2, I agree it’s not as pretty as the previous gen but the aggression does it for me. The M Performance extras are a bit weird, it will be good to see an actual car up close with the extra styling, the wing is not to my liking as all. You should go for white as the options are limited and you have most of the other colours in the fleet 😀

Given your recent purchase of the E30 M3 I think you should do an homage to that car. Red, E30 style wing, cow catcher front lip, BBS rims, etc. It feels like it's already headed in that direction with the box arches. Or get black and do an E30 M3 Evo 2 tribute with some red accents instead of green like your render.

If they're aligned the lights properly. Had proper vertical grille lines along with border. And fixed the hideous square intakes with a better sculpted design and angle..also I think having a body coloured bottom lip instead of the black. It would look good. Looks product designy...like a concept 1st stage prototype

When you buy the F87 M2, you can leave it completely stock on the outside as it looks great. The new G87 M2 is 62k plus and then you’ll be needing to alter the exterior looks to make it look better which is really just masking how poor the styling of it is.

Normally i would go for the red out of those colours, but in this instance i would choose the white (something i cannot imagine myself saying) because i think then that coloured mods will have more punch, and hopefully improve the look, which i personally think is horrendous !

Its very E30-esque with that front end. The designers have used that inspiration from it. Seeing the rolling videos and pics in this the front doesn't look that bad now. Side profile the same but that rear just looks completely out of place like it's a completely different car. It's one of those cars that will be great to drive but not so great to look at. Out of the 5 colours Brooklyn Grey gets my vote.

It seems like some of the cohesiveness of the M240i design got lost in the new M2. As always, its the grille which jars with the expectation. I quite like the rear, and the side profile. I wonder if vertical slats in the grille will help? The M pack parts look real cheap. Adding aggression to the car is not needed, it has plenty already in its base design. A wing, a better front splitter, and sort out the grille - that would be my priorities. Colour - both white and black hide the lines (perhaps a good thing if you weren't going to modify it), so I would suggest red or grey.

I love the design of the new M2. I don't like the render and the M performance parts. Only the M performance wheels look appealing. For color choice, Toronto Red and Brooklyn Grey are the only ones I like. Too bad Portimao Blue or Skyscraper Grey aren't available.

Looks are always in the eye of the beholder - as the saying goes and personally (which is EXACTLY what it boils down to) l think it looks ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC - we should encourage designers to be bold or we will end up with the likes of VW GOLF R, PORSCE 911 and to a certain degree Audi RS3 - all fantastic cars but they haven’t exactly pushed the boat out on looks like Honda Civic Type R, Ford Focus RS MK2 (especially) & MK3 and Toyota GR4 - we can be bold or boring 🥱🥱🥱

If the previous gen didn't exist then I'd probably like this G87 M2 a bit more. It's the front on this for me that looks a bit too forced on. With the grille that looks thick like it's had a punch up and got a swollen nose. Side profile on this looks good.

I think the front of this M2 looks like an old Dodge avenger. Definitely looks worse than the 220i. I think if I bought this car for the performance I would take off the front end and put on the 220i front end because it looks better.

Oof. Nope! M parts are horrendous. A dog's dinner. On the base model, I really like the blockiness they've introduced on the lower bodywork. It harks back to E30 designs. It's the upper bodywork I dislike, as with the M240i. The rounded-off corners & light clusters make it look more like a Nissan with a BMW grill. So, a car of two halves, only one of which I like. Dunno how you could change that! Much more interested in what space you've got in the engine bay for Bilal to work his magic. Oh, and how it goes, ofc!
