This is why Dwayne is the greatest Heat player of all-time, Lebron led them to 2 rings and 4 finals appearances, but this ring was their first and he put the whole franchise on his back in those last 4 games.

I'm really glad you made a video on this. D-Wade is such a fun player to watch & I never understood why this Finals gets dogged on NBA Twitter. Wade had one of the greatest first steps in NBA history & the size & strength to finish through contact - and the Mavs generally slanted their lineups towards offense for most of the mid 2000's, with Dirk even playing at center in some sets. Even the basic statistics back that up - if you look at his free throws per 100 possessions they're always around where Jordan & LeBron were, around 14-15 - and with more minutes plus the Mavs' general lack of rim protection means free throw numbers in the high teens or low 20's were definitely in play. There were missed or questionable calls - there always are - but they're nearly always the exception and not the rule.

@@venusspacey9685 Better driver maybe, but the difference isn’t big. Passing I would hesitate on. Screener and otherwise Rebounder and especially Defender, I agree, but overall, Curry is still better Offensively, and it’s not just because he won two MVP’s. If you look at Curry’s peak vs Wade’s (prob 2021 to 2009), I would say they’re very close or at least they’re equal. I wouldn’t say it’s wrong to say Wade is better, but it is in no way a big difference (if we’re talking just talent/skill, and not achievements). And your point is just using biased things in which Wade does better, but you can do the same for Curry. Better stamina, way better Off Ball, FAR FAR better 3pt shooter, better mid range shooter (this one is actually closer, cause Wade’s mid range game was elite at peak), better Free Throw shooter, much more overall Efficient, better Handles, etc. If you’re looking at peak, they’re a hell of a lot closer. Wade’s Defense especially is very dominant, even though peak Steph is pretty passable as a Defender at that point. But if you’re talking career and longevitity, even outside of Wade’s last 2 years but including all of Steph’s years, they’re essentially comparable, except that Steph is only going to continue doing more (if not injured) and playing at a high level, and Wade was already falling off due to the nature of his injuries in Bron’s later years in Miami (and that was only about 10 years into his career). Certainly if Steph is going to play a solid amount of games (50+, we’ll say) for the next couple seasons, he should easily outpace what Wade has done. And none of this is talking about Accolades or Achievements, so just comparing overall Skill/Talent/Impact

One of my favorite videos I’ve watched on YT in a little. Been saying a lot of the points you brought up for years when it came to the free-throw line merchant dialogue that constantly gets brought up anytime you mention Wade. He attacked the rim at a higher frequency than the vast majority of perimeter players in history and we’re confused as to why he generates a lot of fouls?

Definitely Wade in those finals was something else. Literally - something no one seen before. I am remembering now, how shocking it was to see him taking all those middies and making them, while during the season I could swear that he never took any. And that was definitely absolutely something no one was prepared for. Where that boost of skills came from? Did he call Kobe and asked for advice? However besides that - now rewatching through your videos it became so apparent that Wade was already mature and composed during that period. Also to your point of taking advantage of the rules - for me there's a major difference between Wade and guys like Harden, because I am pretty sure that Wade was manipulating rules only when it really mattered, while Harden and others do it for a living. He was named Flash not because he could beat everyone to the free-through line. :) But seriously - great video and such a sweet memory. Thank you once again.

@@HoopVenuei agree . Kobe from 06-12 was 96-98 jordan clone. Everything from how his jumper looked, to his fadeaways to the post footwork was late 90s jordan. Wade and somewhat bron were late 80s jordan. The all around play, heavy slashing with midrange shooting and occasional 3 pointers, they both played similar to late 80s jordan. Id say LeBron was 89 jordan and wade was like 87 Jordan. 89 Jordan had the most drive attempts like lbj, and got a lot of triple doubles while constantly slashing while 87 jordan took a lot more mid range shots like wade.

The truth is the Mavs choked, Dirk shot 39% from the field for the series, & D-Wade took advantage by stepping on their throats through his mid range & ABILITY to get to the FT line & basket. Mavs should’ve been up 3-0, but they choked away game 3 then got blown out in game 4. It was 2-2 with no controversy at that point. But, the Mavs should’ve been up 3-1 AT LEAST. So, they just played bad especially Dirk. Speaking of, D-Wade STATISTICALLY OUTPLAYED Dirk in both finals they met in (06 & 11). Just saying.. Oh & fun fact: made FTs for the series, Heat: 125 Mavs: 122. Take that info however you want to take it. Great video though. All facts. Respect for giving D-Wade his due 💯

Dirk wasn't severely overrated for 2011. He was VALIDATED for putting up 10+ straight 50-win seasons in a brutal West that had the 5x champ Spurs, 5x champ Kobe, powerhouse Suns, etc. Idiots like you talk out of their asses and don't have nuance in their arguments. a lot of people like to compare lebron or kobe to jordan, but wade was probably closer to jordan than them 2. he had the combo of quickness and strength that made him elite slasher. he didnt have jordan jumping ability or hands to palm the ball, but he made up for it with his wingspan which help him play bigger than his 6'3/6'4 frame. also 06 was around the time when no hand checking was introduced so it made perimeter players like wade unstoppable. you put smaller/quicker defender on him = he outmuscles him to the basket. you put bigger/stronger defender = he flies past by him.

Personally, I have a ton of respect for D.Wade and players with that old school method of playing basketball the right way. Sadly, contact sports when played the right way takes a toll in the athlete' body especially when the athlete does not engage in PED's for their rehab. This is why D. Wade eventually became injury prone due to wear and tear at the professional NBA level. Thanks for sharing your take and your research.

Drawing shooting fouls when they shouldn’t be called is a skill, but there’s a sequence of fouls calls in Game 5 and 6 that are suspect, and you showed just 1 of them. In fact it’s probably the worst one in Game 6, yet you explained it away as him drawing contact as he extends his forearm and pushes Dirk with it from 1-2’ away. Dallas blew multiple chances to win the series, but this one will always have an * by it because of Donaghy and those phantom fouls in Game 5 & 6. Not to mention the absurd suspension of Stackhouse for a hard foul on Shaq that wasn’t worthy of a series altering decision by the league.

Slashers will always shoot more free throws than less athletic shooters. Mavs were setlling for a lot of junpers after going up 2-0 they must've felt like it was over, got complacent while wade got hungry and aggressive. If one guy is driving in 12-15 times and your best player is driving in 6-7 times, sorry but the slasher will shoot more free throws. He was making mavs bigs make a decision to try and block his layups or let him get the 2 points. He wasn't throwing his arms into the defenders like a james harden to draw fouls, he was just attacking strong, straight line drives into the paint that made dirk and dampier look slow and because of their lack of foot speed, his euro steps, hop steps and spinning layups made them have to foul him in order to stop him.

IQ short for intelligence quotient. is a number representing a person's reasoning ability (measured using problem-solving tests) as compared to the statistical norm or average for their age. Sentence structure has nothing to do with IQ. People with high IQ have the ability to manipulate there environment to there favor. Such as on the court. People like wade can manipulate the game to get free throws by know how to draw fouls. Iq comes from a person individually and how there mind works you can’t be thought that like you can be thought sentence structure is my point. The refs saved the mavericks from winning their first chip they were way better than Miami and they all thought the series was over game 3 then the whistles started blowing and the rest was history

Damn you’re telling me probably the best slashing guard ever had a statistical anomaly? What’s next a 6’3 waffle skinned guy single handedly changes court spacing and how we view three balls for the foreseeable future of the game of basketball ?

The nba is rigged bro they gave this ring to wade and shaq in spite of Kobe because the elites wanted Gigi and as yu can see wade gave his child Zaya to the elites willingly… Kobe the only guy to win w/o a top 75 player and against the elites nba script

Mavs where worried about Shaq. Shaqs man can't help at all. All wade does is play off that. Mavs don't have the size on the perimeter to check wade nor the speed to help on his drives. By game 2/3 heat realized let wade eat. Mavs weakness all year was they struggled with big scoring guards. They got lit up by pretty much every G/F premier scorer.
