This game was special because Jokic showed all of his offensive arsenal. Post moves, mid range, hook shots, 3 pointers, spin moves. He did everything except dunks. And he still made 7 assists and a bunch of hockey assists. Minnesota’s defensive brilliance is completely negated by Jokic’s excellent offense. They didn’t even make defensive mistakes. Jokic was simply too good.

Jokic is the best offensive player I ever seen. I started watching NBA in 1980. Truly unstoppable mainly because of his IQ and passing ability. It was like a playoff game. Wolves played hard and just ran out of steam by 4th, prolly because several guys spent too much energy guarding Jokic

He doesn’t elevate his teammates like Jokić, Curry, or LeBron in modern times or guys like Bird, Magic or Russel in the older days. However, he is going to be the best player on any team he plays on. The ability of the Nuggets to ramp up in the clutch behind Jokic's uncanny consistency and versatility makes it so hard for opponents to maintain a lead through the 4th. Incorrect. They, the Nuggets, not in their wildest dreams could see a player like Jokić coming... No one could. Jokić's skill set unlocked their team potential and every playbook that you are seeing right now was developed in the last few years, starting 2018- 2019, when the Nuggets staff realized what they've had, in their possession. I'll bet you anything, that 10 years ago or so, they didn't have a single action drawn in their book, where their C is moving the ball across the court.

@@WrongButtonWB One of the main reason why Joker is miles ahead of everyone else ( apart for his skill and IQ on a basketball court ) comes down to one thing, his mindset!! The guys just doesn't feel pressured the same way as other players in crunchtime. There is actually terminology for it - the Yerkes-Dodson Law! Nicola Jokic ranks number one, by an absolute mile in that category, that along with his size, skill level and basketball IQ makes him the MVP!

The thing i always say about the best defenders in the league like AD or Gobert is that they aren’t as valuable as the best offensive players in the league like Jokic or Curry because it doesn’t matter if they can guard 99% of the league if they can’t guard 1 or 2 guys, AD can guard almost every players in the league but Jokic, Embiid, Luka, prime Curry, healthy Kawhi or Zion ect, but the best offensive players in the league are unstoppable when they are hot, hence the saying « Good defense better offense ». The only guy that could change this is Wemby when he’ll become stronger and like 15-20 pounds heavier, now he is only 230 so 250 pounds + grown men strenght will be enough to guard any Center, but he’ll probably lose a bit of speed and mobility so he won’t guard the perimeter as well …

just a FYI Gobert have a 7'9 wingspan not 7'10. (which is already very long) Also it's obvious than Rudy D can't match Jokic skill/strentgh... Wemby is a better Defender than Gobert... every D metrics says it and the Gobert/Jokic vs Wemby/Jokic matchup just shows it.

Well, the offense with Towns would definitely be better. They could actually space out Jokic on the 3 point line If they tried. Defensively Jokic was able to just roam the paint in this game. However, it can't be ignored that Towns wouldn't be able to guard him at all. It's a toss-up this year and honestly I'm a huge Denver fan.

The nuggets are very underrated defensive team though. They are all around clutch on both sides of the ball. 4 of their starting 5 commonly make either clutch defensive plays (AG and Kcp) or clutch scoring plays (Murray and Joker).

I’m just clarifying that there’s nothing to critique. How could you possibly think that after breaking down Jokic’s offensive brilliance and the way he countered multiple defensive coverages I would ruin the entire thing by calling him a stat padder? I also feel that my very loud appraisal of Jokic on this channel dating back to 2020 would be some indicator on how I feel about his numbers.

Sorry man, but Ben Wallace would get cooked by Jokić. The big threat is the spacing which Wallace would have no ability to work on. Gobert is a top five all-time interior defender, but his weakness (and almost all big men’s weakness) is guarding the perimeter. Wallace would get cooked having to guard Jokić from the half-court, just like everyone else does. It’s not a knock on anyone, it’s just that Jokić is an all-time great scorer, and one of the best passers of all time to boot.
