All these videos show me just how far off Luka is of those comparisons with the GOATs. He basically plays one side of the ball on an elite level. But his defense is less than average. Too many blow-bys, lapses in concentration and straight up lack of effort. I still like Ant for the MJ comparisons because he makes an effort on both sides of the ball and can be excused for a little inexperience in the playoffs. Luka on the other hand, has had multiple deep runs in playoff games if you include his time in the Euro League. He knows what it takes. So we can't really excuse him for being a liability like that on D. In the previous series they were able to hide him because Gobert ain't much of an offensive threat. But once you get bigs that can shoot he gets exposed, and that's something opposing teams will look to capitalize on going forward. Unless of course he can zero in on this problem in the off-season.

@anubis05497 ай бұрын
@willmarinac5201 sure his offensive numbers absolutely. Like the op said on offense Luka is a monster but defensively Luka is a liability. His mindset currently with foul hunting is killing his team. Most people will tell you Luka is better than tatum right and offensively his numbers say that. But basketball is a 2 sided game and if you can't even be competent on one side I cannot say you are the best. Tatum at least when he isn't scoring can lock down on defense and playmake. He knows when to let his teammates shine and when he has to step up. Luka is nothing without the ball in his hands.

Celtics were projected to get the finals since the start of the season. They’re indisputably solid. Mavs are also clearly limping. They were never supposed to make the playoffs. they gassed themselves against the best talent in the league (Curry, Lebron, Jokic, Harden/Westbrook/Kawhi, ANT/KAT, etc etc)….. And aside from Kyrie they had the youngest team in the playoffs. Luka is putting up playoff numbers that Kobe MJ Wilt Bird and Lebron were never able to manage this early in their careers.

Lebron averaged 30 8 n 6 at age 21 in his first playoff run. Lebron at 22, scored 25 straight points against Detroit, including the game winning layup. Dropping 48 9 n 7. Lebron at age 23, took the big 3 Celtics 7 games dropping 45 in game 7. All while playing great defense .

As many others have said, Nuggets would definitely be a better matchup for Celtics, but I personally believe that the mavs would beat the nugs if they met in the WCF. Even the wolves might've put up a better fight than the mavs, but the mavs are still best in the west. The Mavs just majorly outperformed their roster, mostly on the back of incredible runs from luka and kyrie, but also their role players consistently performing when called upon. They kind've just fell back to earth against a far superior team that matches them well. The mavs roster just has a lower floor than other west teams, so when they can't have their way, they really fall apart. Also, the Celtics roster is built to demolish teams when they are in control.

😂 I didn't see it that way but let's say it was an offensive foul. Luka did a fine job turning the refs against him with all his bitching. They got sick of it. Also let's not pretend like Luka isn't a defensive liability and this series has completely exposed him as a one dimensional player. Which, to me, takes him right out of the MVP conversation. But there's always next season.
