The situation nash was experiencing was unbelievably difficult.. Learning two different truths where one of them is a lie or worse both of those "truths" are fake is really confusing and can possibly drive you crazy.. Nash's decision to let everything and go online forever is both understandable and kinda painful..

The funny thing is, if everyone simultaneously gets forced to log off how do you honestly think they would react. I'm sure some would self implode they wouldn't know how to deal with reality, others would never feel the same some would move on but few I believe would be better off for it. The chaos it would cause, the economic increase in demand of goods and services would sky rocket now that people are outside again. I think the implications would be sadly dire if this actually happened. 🤔

Some people are already like that in VRChat lol. But at some point reality wakes them up because of responsibilities i.e jobs, school, family, etc. And of course you have to eat and piss every once and awhile. I stayed in VRChat for a whole 48 hours at one time because it was so addicting but I can't do that anymore; got work to do. 😂

@Messi-rw9ng
@Messi-rw9ng 3 жыл бұрын
@@alvinlin8140 Sooo...long comment incoming just a warning! *tl;dr is VRChat can be anything you want it to be. You can do a lot. But it can also be really boring if you don't know what do. (and that's why my comment is so long lmao but I think you'll learn a lot if you decide to read)* The majority of KZbin videos about VRChat are very one-sided I'd say as for the most part they show the comedic aspects of the game and well the craziness of it at times. While VRChat is indeed hectic, crazy, with a bunch of screaming 12 year olds especially in public lobbies, it's also a great social space (what it's meant to be) for meeting new people from around the world. I've made great friends on VRChat from Saudi Arabia, the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Australia, Japan and who knows where else (I'm from the US). It's crazy. I've even met one of them irl and we still talk to this day. And I've come to appreciate a lot of people's different perspectives and cultures because of that. You might ask, why not just play any other game or join some discord server and meet people that way? Well it's just not as natural as in VRChat. Especially if you have a VR headset (you can play without it), socializing in the VR space feels genuinely like real life since people are moving, changing their facial expressions, and having physical reactions like in real life that you wouldn't see in a Call of Duty lobby. It really depends on what you want to do in VRChat and who you meet. I wanted to have some good conversations with people so I usually hanged out with the people who actually sat and talked. But some people login just for fun and entertainment (which is absolutely fine) so they hang with the bunch who are messing around and throwing a bunch of memes. Another aspect of VRChat is how it's very developer friendly and most of the content in the game was made by the players for the players and through content creators with 3d modelling skills, 2d art, game design, programming, etc. If you have any interest in these then VRChat becomes a very easy place to showcase your talent and have people play and join your game world, show off your artistic creations, or create your own 3d models for people to use (or for yourself). And because of this, there's a HUGE plethora of different things to do in VRChat. It is a real metauniverse with hundreds and thousands of unique worlds to visit.. Swimming? Check. Play soccer? Check. Baseball? Check. Ride a rollercoaster? Check. Shoot guns? Check. Go into huge virtual cities and roam around? Check. Go into space? Check. Play UNO? Check. Visit a historic art museum? Check. Fly a helicopter? Check. Even actual games are implemented in VRChat: Among Us in VR? Check. Squid Game? Check. Dark Souls? Check. The list goes on and on and on. And yes, a lot of players do end up picking anime style avatars since it's just what's become popular but there's other communities within VRChat (that's what's great about a virtual social game). There's a big community of Half-Life fans for example who go around wearing their avatars and have giant roleplaying events. There's also the same thing but with Star Wars fans. A big furry community also exists if you're into that. Since there's so many avatars out there for every single game and media, you can probably find a community of players related to it. Something else is some genuine communities that can help you with learning new languages by attending virtual classes or just talking. There's also a huge sign language community for deaf/hard of hearing and for those who just want to learn. There's even yoga classes and exercise as well as full on music concerts and club events in VRChat lol. There's a lot of darker aspects of VRChat too that I didn't mention i.e ERP, Script-kiddies/hackers and crashers, game asset rippers and content leakers, general distaste for the VRChat developers, the social ranking system, etc. I no longer play the game though, it just took too much hours from my day haha so I stopped. Anyways, sorry for the long post. I hope this was insightful for you. If you get invested in this game it can and will suck you in lol. I don't think calling it a "game" really is the right term either.. It's more of a experience. Have a good one.

@@weareorigin Yes! Do so, no matter how much Facebook advertises it's own corporatized metaverse it won't ever come close to the open-ended, user generated space that VRChat already offers. It's very much the "wild-west" of virtual reality. Very few limits and boundaries for better or worse.

You know, I’ll just say it. I don’t think the whole virtual world thing would be so bad. Life is about experiences, isn’t it? Exploring the world, building a family, meeting friends, and working to achieve goals. If a person can do those things in a virtual world, is that as pathetic and naive as people often like to assume? I’m a healthy human being and personally I love my own reality, with all its ups and downs, so I do think I would chose to go virtual… but I imagine this technology could give those with debilitating physical or mental disabilities/disease another chance at experiencing a more enjoyable, fulfilling life.

We have online worlds that can fully immerse us and replace real life quite easily, already, but we do not have the systems in place to allow people to live minimalist like this, the basic income in this movie for example, so the people who make the choice to immerse themselves fully online and in gaming, end up having to hold down a pitiful job and spend time doing pretty much slave labour, just so they can do it. The disconnect from reality but requirement to keep grinding in it to keep the other life going is something that has caused a pandemic of depression across the world, most specifically in Japan, but a lot of what contributes to the cases in Japan is the level of sexual enjoyment the Japanese games offer. There are many companies over in Japan who pride themselves in making virtual reality girlfriends. I would imagine the sex dolls and stuff you can get these days do nothing to aid in battling this disconnection based depression.
