In that universe - Why not just send the "information" about the death back 33 days, and ask an agent in the present to save the person. I am sure sending a whole person would require much more energy than sending 3Mb of data. Amazing work though guys. Like this concept, the cinematography and the VFX!!
@AbhishekMukherjee4 жыл бұрын
@slow poke From what I got, the agent had to time travel. My question is why send an agent at all? Just pass the information, and just before the predicted event, ask an agent in the present to wait near the place of event and deal with it.
@honeySingh-nf4ne4 жыл бұрын
@slow poke it is answered in this episode you have to send a agent to different timeline to save client if they don't send an agent then the client will die no matter what you do because his fate is decided in this timeline that he will die no matter what so in order to save the client they have to send an agent to different timeline where the client's fate is not decided and can be changed
They explain in later episodes that traveling to the past is super dangerous and is forbidden for very good reasons, so they just change the timeline they are currently in from "dead" to "saved" by shifting the future instead.
@Medz6417 жыл бұрын
This concept seems great but I won't lie, it's got some major pacing issues. Things are just happening too quickly and certain transitions from one scene to another comes across pretty jarring. I think it'd be better as maybe like a 60 min or 45 min episode where situations are given more time to develop or for the audience to just process.
@gregkrazanski7 жыл бұрын
yeah i think they did a good job for a small budget, but it's WAY too fast. nothing gets half a second to build tension or take the time to try to emotionally resonate, it's just like onto the next dialogue scene

I totally agree. The idea and concept can really develop into an impactful and dramatic story, but it is going a bit quickly. I really wish it was longer.

The agents are jumping to a new timeline, so they're not saving their world's version of that client, AND they're not returning to their same family/friends, technically. BUT if all timelines are the same, then essentially it's just a shuffle of that agent. An agent from a different timeline's Lifeline(TM) would jump forward into this timeline and save this timelines version of that client. Just no one is acknowledging that they're going to be living with a version of their loved ones that they technically haven't met before - if that makes sense. It wouldn't technically make a difference on their day to day life so maybe they wouldn't care

Actually, it works out. You see, in timeline a: Lifeline gets a signal, they send an agent to the future which causes timeline b to come into existence. Timeline a no longer effects timeline b. Timeline c: The exact same time. You see, it doesn't matter what happens in the timeline you just came from since you are no longer in it.
@Donar237 жыл бұрын
9:30 If the Agent jumps in a whole new timeline, the client will die anyway in the current timeline. Also, there is no reasons why the agents would reappear in the current timeline, not even in 33 days; it's a one way ticket, so if you're out of the timeline, you stay out. In the new timeline there should be two of those agents, since the agent in the new timeline had no reason to jump, because the death was prevented; I guess the agent of the new timeline will sooner or later jump to yet another timeline, but that's beside the point. I feel like the time travel logic doesn't work out in this series. Maybe some things are cleared up in future episodes, but I'll probably never find out, since KZbin Red will probably never come to my country :D

That's the deal with making timeline movies. If you don't create a good plot and universe in the story, the whole thing will feels contradicting
@noblezombee56637 жыл бұрын
I've only watched this episode and so either those whole series are super illogical or I have no idea what is going on: So the main dude/owner of the company says that they are able to predict someone's death in the current time line. He also mentions that it is impossible to change the events which are written on the current time line but they can send agents into the future, across the time and space, to a whole new time line so they could save someone's life over there. What does it mean? It means that it is the least successful business in the history of all insurance companies. Why? Because people who were predicted to die - really died - in the time line from which those agents came from. In the time to which they jumped there has never been any sort of incident endangering clients lives recorded on the company's detectors. Nothing ever happened - there hasn't been any sort of disturbance ever recorded regarding clients lives because those other agents from the other time line already came and did what they had to do - which was also written on the time line to which they had jumped. So, it should mean that every time those agents "teleport" into the future there are already at least one other copy of them, on the spot, sitting and doing nothing since nothing "bad" for the clients has ever happened here. At least yet. That leads us to the conclusion that the agents are leaving broken time lines behind in which perspectives the company probably went fully bankrupt because of its inefficiency and a lot of people died. Moreover - Lifeline Company from the time lines to which the agents jumped shouldn't have any idea what to do about the fact that more and more unassigned agents ( since no deaths were predicted) are coming and requesting new tasks and (oh no) - even payments. So how does it work Corridor Digital?
@williamkrause99687 жыл бұрын
No, because you are jumping a person forward in time meaning for those 33 days the agent would not exsist. Leaving only 1 agent in the future. It is a really good way to do time travel. The reason why the agent can not go back is because that would create a paradox
@Rafroo7 жыл бұрын
it doesnt make a paradox because Lifeline is already bound to happen. It only favors one timeline over another (eg.: 1 timeline without LifeLine vs 1 timeline with Lifeline). The past is left unchanged and the agent that jumps in the future doesnt not remain in the past 33 days meaning there is no overlapping. Its basically Shrodinger's cat but with knowing what the result of the quantum entanglement will be before it happens.

Came here from #minutephysics Based off of Detective Grundy's comment at 18:25 In 20 years, an agent would age about 2.7 years. Assumptions: 1 job jumps them 33 days ahead, after the job is done they have 3 days off. This would give them at most 10 jumps per year, with 30 days off per year. In 20 years they would only age 967 days or 2.7 years. This also takes into consideration that every day they return to work, after three days off, that they immediately have another job

I feel like im being pulled from one spot to the other without enough time to adjust or catch my breath, so to speak. They're missing that string that connects shots together really well and pulls us in like a fishing hook. Also, the audio (more the soundtrack) isn't pulling me in. Its more like duct tape over a cracked window than just fixing the window: it disrupts the view. The film also feels a bit "tense." maybe more panning shots and movement to establish stuff and give it more flow? Anyway, I know you guys were really rushed to make this, and with everything Ive seen from SamandNiko (*cough* dontmixthechannelsjake *cough*) you guys did good, and hopefully stuff in the future will be even better. Explaining the logic behind LifeLine: The system works with 2 components-Detecting death and Sending people to the future. Since detecting death in the future means death happens, you can't just lock them in a bunker. You have to create a new timeline. However, creating a new timeline forms a shroedinger's cat situation where it collapses the original future. You know the scene where the women gets killed by the elevator? It didn't happen. It was erased from time since the agent was sent to the future. Nothing happens until something affects it.

lifeline shouldve failed because the reality where the send people forward there company would be bankrupt, they cant save clients in that timeline so only other timlines would be successful

Time is man made. It truly doesn't even exist.

You're half right. For every yes and no, there is, theoretically, an altered version of that. In theory every thought births a different timeline, so yeah, there is a timeline where this company is majorly fxcking up and isn't saving anyone at all, but there's also one where they arent, and that's the one being filmed. Not to mention timeliness merge and trade spots all the time (which is evident by more and more people noticing the Mandela effect). Also, timelines aren't JUST the opposite of each other. To clarify, if something is green, there's an alternate reality where it is blue, yellow, purple, etc. Theoretically every and all versions of life are happening and have happened.

Imagine you’re in the military, everyone is on lifeline insurance. No combat deaths, I consider this a win

Does anybody else ever roll their eyes when the gang leader gets shot 5 times in the chest and lives, but then the main character gets shot in the shoulder once and dies instantly for dramatic effect? (I still think this is a great show, and I love it. But I still just cannot HELP not nitpicking at least a little)
