When I got to book A Feast for Crows for the first time. I was surprised when I discovered that most of the characters I liked do not exist. I expected that it would take me a long time to finish this book. But I finished it in two weeks, while the rest of the books take me at least a month or two to complete. And I loved the book. It may be because of the change in the perspective of the usual characters and the development of some characters such as Sansa and Arya. And a difference in the Dorn event from the show. I really liked a Feast for Crows. ❤❤

29:50 thats funny im going thru the entire asoiaf by pov. but ive already read thru the series like 4 or 5 times at this point. i love going thru by pov, i got a whole system too, its really great but i think its best if youre already familiar with the series and experienced it the way grrm intended it to be read.

AFFC isn't a short book, it just has fewer chapters. Same word count as AGOT and ACOK.

I'm re-reading the series for the first time (reading my own copies of the books for the first time, having used library copies previously). I've been generating tables of contents as I go, to slip into each book, listing not just each chapter's title and 1st-page number but also listing any other POV characters featured in that chapter (limited to characters with POVs in that book, and limited to characters physically present in the chapter - not merely mentioned, or shown in flashback, or in the same location), and I've color-coded the character's for quicker reference. This way, in the future, I (or anyone else) can more easily read an individual character's story more completely than merely their own POV chapters, if not reading the whole book.

I'm not able to watch this video bc I'm currently in the middle of my first read of AFFC. I'm about 25% through it and idk what people are talking about, this book is actually really good and I'm really enjoying the new POVs that we got here (esp Cersei's and Brienne's) and I'm actually really excited to see Sam and Gilly's journey south, what Asha will do at the Queensmoot in Old Wyk, What will happen with Cersei and the Tyrells at KL, What will happen with Sansa at the Eyrie, will Brienne find Sansa and everything else really. It takes me around 3 to 4 weeks to finish one ASOIAF book and I was able to get through 25% of Feast in 4 days. I also find the parallels between Feast and Dance really cool.

I didn’t like AFFC at all but ADWD is what ended the series for me. I knew going in that AFFC wouldn’t have a lot of characters that I had found interesting. I expected to struggle some getting through it. I was so looking forward to ADWD but found great storylines turning to mush. Even if I hear that the series ends on a high note, I can’t make myself read through those two books again. I found them to be horrible. The first three were some of the most entertaining I had ever read. I’m flummoxed.

Honestly no I couldn’t bear the Cersei chapters, she’s just way too resentful and spiteful all the time towards everyone all the time, but I agree feast itself is great
@mschell8022 Жыл бұрын
Why is this a bad thing? It's exactly what makes Cersei a great villain.

I didn't enjoy the cersei chapters on my first read thru of affc. There are alot of them and i kept feeling annoyed that it was interrupting the povs i cared about more. That said on my second and third read thru i appreciated them more each time and really enjoy them now, especially with their conclusion in adwd. When you reread them and can see the themes and the foreshadowing, and understand how cerseis ego, vanity and naivety are her ruin and the ruin of kings landing, it makes it alot more enjoyable to read thru and witness and i think it was really well done by grrm..you realize how shes really at the heart of so much trouble in the realm for the entire series but also shes sympathetic in that she is how she is because of(at least partially, who could really say how much tho) her upbringing and the misogynistic world she was born into. And i love that little finger comments on how shes making a mess of everything even quicker than he planned, which he says before we see everything explode in her face, showing how shrewd and aware "lf" is.
