Awesome channel Jim ! what would be a typical delta value on the delta t circulator for an in floor radiant heat zone ? I saw in another video you used 20 degrees as an example but I think that was for a radiator system

Can you do a video showing how to refill a glycal system and how to feel a regular water system That is attached to either an infloor heating system and or baseboard heating??? And the equipment needed to do those tasks .

Most of them are shipped or picked up by customers and contractors. I do have many systems I have fully installed myself but do not have videos of them running.

@@JimSperanza I noticed that all the circulator pumps you use are cast iron, would using a stainless one be better?

@ms82xp they don't make stainless versions of most circulator sizes. They would only be used for special applications. In standard boiler systems cast iron is the norm.

Does that manifold have built in shutoff valves for each loop?

Great videos. If you wanted to get a combi for the 3 zones but not necessarily need dhw, can you leave the dhw dry until needed or does the dhw need to be charged?

You can use the heat only without the domestic hot water if you want to

I'm doing the exact system you have here single zone 4 loop, except it's a closed system with an axiom feeder. Have you done any? And do you just cap iff the built in water connection? Also on the domestic cold side do you have a back flow valve? BTW great vids

@granttruckey6270 use the auto feeder much easier to fill the system. Backflow preventer goes on the auto feeder not on the domestic cold.

Can domestic hot water be seperate (using same boiler) so that antifreeze fluids can be used in heating zones? Allowing for seasonal draining of domestic hot water

Absolutely. They are isolated completely within the boiler system.

Hello I've watched a lot of your videos very helpful! I'm putting in my own system for slab heat in the house that I'm building.. quick question does there need to be a check valve installed in this system? Also I have 2 zones (2 pumps) ferguson put together a package for me with a external taco controller included is that necessary? Thanks

I would be very careful when allowing suppliers to help you with boiler projects. They supply parts and from my experience they have no idea how to design heating systems. Contact me at [e-mail] and I can get you on track.

Ok I understand I own a well pump company and have an account at ferguson all of the parts I was given are in line with how you set your boilers up except for the external controller just seeing if that's necessary if it's not I will just take it back thanks for your quick response !

Hi Jim I have an outside wood boiler that is connected via 1" in ground pex to a hydronic heat exchanger that I have installed in the electric furnace plenum in the basement so that I can just using the electric furnace fan to heat the house, also in the water loop I have in floor heating in my double garage. So the whole system is just one water loop. The wood boiler has just died and I want to use a Navien NHB to do the same job. Is this do-able and what advice do you have and what is the best way to calculate how many BTU for the Navien. Thanks

Is there any reason you do not use temperature mixing valve

A mixing valve is only needed when there are higher temps being delivered for other heating zones. This system is only one zone so the boiler can be set to the temp required for that zone so there no need to mix it down.
