Comedy is definitely very subjective as varies and depends on who you’re asking. Sitcoms are definitely great but I do feel as though comedy movies in genres cater towards a more different audience compared to the standard sitcoms. Like me for example, I’m a big fan of Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen type comedy movies whether they directed it or produced it as well. Regardless, they’re not the sort of movies I tend to obsess over or think about after the fact but there’s definitely an appeal behind them but whether or not you like it entirely up to you. But sadly the comedy theatrical market is shrinking thanks to streaming. I mean there’s a reason why Happy Gilmore 2 is going straight to Netflix instead. It works much better in this day and age but also Adam Sandler has a partnership with the company to make movies for their platform. His last big theatrical comedy movie was Pixels all the way back in 2015 as well.
