In praise of contradiction | Ramin Heydari Faroughi | TEDxTehran

Why does the world seem so contradictory? Why do things generally go wrong? Why do philosophers and artists never give up? Why do some people get tired and not the rest? Is there a secret in the concept of contradiction that we can appreciate? Storyteller, philosopher, and documentary maker reveals the mystery. Ramin H. Faroughi was born in Tehran in 1966. His father was an army officer, and his mother a teacher. Owing to his father’s career, he inevitably spent his childhood years traveling, which contributed greatly to the shaping-up of his character. Now the childhood years are over, yet the peregrinations are still proceeding. Still, this time he is wending the way of his own volition as a documentarist, on a mission better to know various manifestations of culture and human civilization. In Iran, Faroughi is known as a documentarist who makes poetic visual travelogues.
