Perry cracks me up with his big stack of Criterions, then says more than one time, "I'm gonna put some of these back. This is getting ridiculous." Lol. 😆 Like a kid in a candy store. It would be fun Criterion hunting with you guys.

FYI, the Blue Velvet Criterion has the original audio on it which isn't present on the previous release if that's something you care about.
@jesusperez71084 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. I cannot wait to rewatch Blue Velvet on Criterion. It's among my top 50 Favorite films of All Time.
@stimpy26954 жыл бұрын
@@jesusperez7108 It looks great and the original audio was a very nice addition. For me, things like that are super important when releasing a definitive version, the only step up from here would be a UHD. I love Blue Velvet, it's one of my favorites of all time and I think David Lynch is a genius. Personally, in my life, his body of work really means a lot to me, more so than almost any other filmmaker even though there are definitely a few others. My brain was never so melted after seeing Mulholland Dr. in the theater. I did pick up The Elephant Man this sale and love that release! Picked up a few others too, my last trip will be to pick up the Fellini set, he's another Filmmaker whose work means a ton to me.

Lol, like kids raiding a candy store XD I saw Mungiu's Beyond the Hills once upon a time, and 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days about half a year later and thought they were just alright. 4 Months was pretty good but I hadn't gotten used to Mungiu yet. Then, in 2016, I saw his 3rd movie, Graduation, and was blown away and HAD to get the Criterion. Then decided to give 4 Months a rewatch last year and thought it was EVEN BETTER. Now I'm thinking of rewatching Beyond the Hills too, but if you loved 4 Months, I highly highly recommend Graduation :D

Autumn Sonata is a Bergman film ive never heard of. I always hear about about Seventh Seal and Persona. Where would you suggest i start?
@charlottesometimes54914 жыл бұрын
@@TheMisfitPond I honestly don't think you can go wrong with Bergman. Autumn Sonata is my favorite- the acting is brilliant. If you're just starting out though, I'd recommend going with Persona or Cries and Whispers. I feel like they're a better introduction to his style and themes. The Seventh is also amazing but I don't think it's the best introduction to Bergman as a whole.
