As a married man, I reject the idea that men just want "sex, silence, and sandwiches". I like talking to my wife. She's funny and she laughs at my stupid jokes. I want companionship and love. Not a sex doll.

@@nomadic_orthodox no it means not a masculine woman, whos obnoxious, goes on girls night out and sleeps with random dudes. its funny how OP says "she laughs at my stupid jokes" like hes homer simpson, which is a character made to make men look stupid and simps. and also, if she laughs at your stupid jokes, but dsnt give you sex, are you cool with that? nope. because Sex, silence and sandwiches come first, then you can focus on the small things like her laughing at you because you make stupid jokes.

Naturally in them they feel the need to hunt provide and protect their family . Women who are also high value have their own role. Im not referring to the ones who are bitter, jumping from one person to the other with a different outlook on loyalty of union and rather spend their time passing judgments on marrietal unions without even living it themselves. Every one has the free will to live the way they choose . If marriage is not for you for w.e reason than honestly no judgments . People who debate Pearl should stop playing her game. Stop letting her getting away with hammering the same points that her fans love her for. She is not a smart woman, she has very poor reasoning skills. She just found her grift. She knows the pain points of her audience and just repeat them ad nauseam. For example when they talked about standards, with her idiotic “yes or no” questions, I think Trent should have said something of the like “men are allowed to have standards, yes, and?”. Stop trying to argue with “and women too” with her, that’s exactly what she wants. If you feed her the same responses she gets on the daily basis on her Twitter feed, she is just going to go on with her little circus. It is her brand. I know it’s easier said than done though, because the problem precisely lies in the fact that she is not bright, so it’s hard to have a rational conversation with her. She only knows how to speak in slogans, always brings back the conversation to the lowest hanging fruit and when she feels she loses ground on a point, she jumps to another. She is just terrible to talk to. Most importantly, she is not interested in truth and honesty.

He keeps talking past her because he can't see outside of his God filled married looking glass point of view to talk to an atheist(don't know if Pearl is religious but the point stands.) Easy example above: Trent can't say "yes, and?" Because he knows what she is saying(there is no reason a man shouldnt ask a women to stay a under a certain weight) is rational. All he can do is argue the extremes(120 after a women is pregnant is common) or a moral argument based on preference(he's shallow). Yes, the people who go to Pearl for advice are shallow. What would his response have been if Pearl said "yes, that is shallow, and...?"

Because it would be the only possible incentive for a man to invest and commit to a woman. Even without a Christian ethical system, you will still have a basic trading of obligations. Stripping away any ethical duties, only leaves trades. What do I get out of this, and what do you get? Adding back in the Christian ethic though, and modern women actually become way worse. If modern men held women to a Christian ethical standard before marriage, less than 5% would be marriageable. Meanwhile, the State doesn't care about even one feature of covenantal marriage, and has literally defined out ALL of the features Catholics would consider foundational to marriage. Add these things together and no one can possible make an argument for why anyone, especially not Catholic men, should participate in the State's marriage farce.

@@PaulLeEtudiant but most men don’t provide and protect anymore nor do they want to. Our culture doesn’t teach that any longer and many women out earn their husbands now and have higher level careers. Only traditionally minded Christian men see the value in this anymore. Marriage really only makes sense if viewed a the sacrament that it is where the women submit and obey and the men provide and protect. Outside the lenses of this it doesn’t really make sense. Where is the motivation to stay and fight for a relationship if one’s main goal is their own personal happiness? If neither party goes into a marriage understanding this it’s most likely going to fail. Most don’t that’s why the divorce rate is so high.

I hear Pearl say things that are so presumptive of married women. As a nurse working in the perinatal area, when i tell couples "no sex for six weeks after baby" some men will say "i guess I'll just be in the bathroom with my phone". And then chuckle. Can you imagine treating the mother of your child that way and expecting your marriage to last? Men are NOT innocent any more than women. So you'll just cheat on your wife with porn when you don't "get sex" for a few weeks? She just spent months, vomiting, constipated, sore, and then had an incredibly painful experience to give birth and he can't even discipline himself for 6 weeks?

Marriage is a bad deal if you marry Pearl that’s for sure. In the Catholic Church, marriage is a sacrament called matrimony, which is a permanent union between a man and a woman that symbolizes the marriage of Christ and his Church. It is a covenant that is more than a contract, and is based on the free consent of the couple. The couple's consent is an act of their will to give and accept each other mutually, and must be manifested in a legitimate manner as determined by the Church. This consent is total and free, and is what brings about the sacrament of marriage. Marriage is the best thing that happen in my life thanks God 🙏

It's funny you mention sampling bias. Trent is the one who uses a survey of STILL MARRIED men to argue that marriage makes men happier. He had absolutely no answer to that. Embarrassing on his part.
@Hearth123
@Hearth123 22 күн бұрын
@@discussingsplinterlands7728 he can't help that you didn't comprehend his answer. Trent addressed that argument by saying at the very least marriage didn't make those men unhappy ergo, at the very least, marriage cannot reasonably be said to take happiness away, that's the argument. His surveys are massive, the idea that all those men were happy, handsome and successful is just ridiculous. Most men are just average like most women, they're not exceptional by definition. Multi level population level surveys with hundreds of thousands of randomized participants in a category is not a sampling bias, she just has an unproven explanation hypothesis. Even amongst divorced men, the majority go on to marry again hence they did not perceive marriage itself to be a bad deal. Pearl's only retort to this is that those men are irrational in her view. Pearl's sampling bias is her citing her interviews as evidence for a wider phenomenon when she specifically interviews a subsection of men with a specific experience, that's a blatant sampling bias. It would be like me interviewing a bunch of people suing hospitals about their experience with doctors and acting like that was representative of the average person visiting a hospital or if I interviewed a bunch of women who were beaten by their husbands about how violent men are and used that as evidence of the average man being violent.

No dude is getting married for good health he is typically doing it because the girl is asking for commitment to get assurance that he cannot leave her high and dry. Marriage benefits exclusively women not men. She should have argued through the case that marriage is on the decline, it serves no functional purpose nor no relative difference to cohabitation other than in the case of a legal union under the law or maybe she could target his fallacy of using good health as a justification for marriage. Another option is to say that correlation does not equate to casuation in the same way we could say that single men live long and health lives in a specific age group. He is not saying lower your standards and settle. He's saying, "Don't have unrealistic expectations." We are not cartoon characters. We age and change.

When a lady marries young, and relies on her husband for all support, it is a huge risk. If she finds herself in a truly abusive situation, she will be in a very severe situation trying to leave and provide for herself. Marriage is a risk for both. Pearl wants the females to marry young and forgoes education. She is risking poverty if her husband leaves her.

I think she is more shallow. The vast majority of people I know have settled down with average men (some above average, some below but the majority of them are average). She is 27 and should have been able to find a man who she could marry, but she isn't married. She is not ugly and she is at an average weight, she is tall but I know women her height who have husbands. It could be something else, but it wouldn't surprize me if she was picky. There is nothing bad in being picky, you might just not be able to get what you want.

@Joe-gi3nj
@Joe-gi3nj 13 күн бұрын
A few things. Based on your logic, if married men aren’t qualified because they haven’t been divorced, then Pearl would be even worse because she’s never even been a “candidate” for divorce. Also, most aren’t saying she’s uniformed because she’s never been married…they’re saying she’s uniformed because she’s talking out of her butt and her ideas smell like it. She doesn’t have a clue, not because she’s never been married, but because she’s talking out of her derrière
