Interesting. Betty Ford grew up in my home town of Grand Rapids. The story I always heard as a kid was that the house was only a few blocks from where I grew up. She had gone off to New York with the dream of pursuing dance, as I heard. In those days, marrying a politician shelved your own career. The was it was in those days.

I'm so disappointed that you describe her as a "troublemaker". That is what women have been called for years if they give an opinion. other than husbands. The conditioning of women to submit is why we are still not free.

Hey I hear you but think they meant it in a goodway. Clearly we have to be careful with using adjectives like that, good reminder for all of us. However, the world needs trouble makers right, to question and scrutinize the majority and protect those who are vulnerable and under represented. Thanks

@@cindywilliams3542 That's the problem, we are socialized to believe we are lesser. The words we use to describe ourselves and others is so important. These women are conditioned to use that language without even realizing it. I don't think they meant harm but it still does. The minority rules not the majority, but the majority is oppressed and to to try to correct that you are labeled "troublemaker" and many other negative things. Thanks
