this story reminds me of a tiktok I saw where someone described how it feels like to have $86,400 in your bank account everyday that you can spend all of it if you want because at the start of a new day, the amount of money resets to $86,400. You cannot save it up to become a millionaire but if you keep it then you basically loose all of it at the end of the day. So might as well use all of it. That is where they said there is 86,400 seconds in a human's daily life. Those seconds cannot be saved up because they reset and thus why not spend every second doing something, cause you would want to spend that money no? it's crazy

DIVERGENT!!! The twist you and stephiance mentioned in the end where what if the 8 time zones were just in a study and people outside were studying them and observing if immortality is good for anybody, I would recommend you watch the movie series Divergent. It's still dystopian which has 5 factions by personality types (the brave, the selfless, the kind, the honest, and the intelligent). Each person enters adulthood, he or she must choose a faction and commit to it for life. The factions were created with the hopes of eliminating future war and violence with people focusing on just one faction. The main actors are Divergent, they fit into multiple factions (just how reality is where a person can both be brave and intelligent, etc) but the Erudite faction (the intelligent ones) thought these Divergent are a threat to society's peace and harmony as they dont fit anywhere. At some point they discover that all the factions are in an experiment. It was formed by those who blamed ignorance for the war that had occurred in the past, causing them to split into factions in the first place to maintain peace. It was exactly the twist you and MMB are talking about, even the twist where it was shown how it all started. I HOPE YOU COULD TALK ABOUT THE DIVERGENT MOVIE SERIES JUST LIKE THIS ONE! It has 3 movies: Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant. It is so good!
