In The ‘Hood: Why Won’t It Close On Our LS430

When the hood of our Lexus LS430 wouldn't close, the mechanic who helped us jump our battery recommended liquid wrench. Ordered it off Amazon to test it out, and....here are the results!

lol it’s magic just by having it. Luv it. PB blaster is very great. Can buy at Home Depot or Walmart or some automotive outlets

Same problem on my GS400, replaced the cable, $350 with labour at Lexus Edmonton.

Had the same problem with mine, but it never magically fixed itself. This will probably happen again and while it still works you might want to put some of that on the cable, I had to take off the latch under the hood to get to the latch cable and had to work the hood release lever a few times to get it to finally move to get the grease into the cable, but it was still much cheaper than replacing it.
