Taking me back to an era where Big Band music was king. I have always been a huge fan. Great concert with musicians playing Glenn Miller's wonderful music since the 1940's.

Maybe a couple players are out for some reason. Or a couple left and haven't been replaced yet. They could have even made a staffing level change for cost savings, but I sort of doubt that. But it's possible. I think they usually have four of each (at least that's what I recall the times I have seen them live). Not positive, but I think the very earliest Glenn Miller Orchestra (with Glenn Miller) had only 3 of each. And was expanded to 4 each for a little bit bigger sound. I have seen videos where he had as many as 5 each. But 3 of each will get the job done. Their web site has contacts including for their music director. It might be possible to just ask them. And since the current music director plays saxophone, when he is directing, they are short one saxophone. And the instrumentation gets reduced even more when the "Moonlight Serenaders" are singing because that typically pulls two of the reeds and two of the brass up front to sing. Of course, with the original band, they didn't have to do that as the Modernaires were independent singers. Incidentally, they can't use the "Modernaires" name because they were not part of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, but a separate entity hired by Glenn Miller, and somebody still has rights to that name. At any rate, this is great orchestra to go see live. They always play a certain number of the old "standards" but usually a piece or two you may not have heard. They have something like 700 original charts from the Glenn Miller Orchestra, so they have a lot to select from.

Where are the videos that show 10 brass? There are only parts for 8. I played under 4 GMO leaders and we mever had more than 8 brass.
