I got my mind blown when i heard that the only reason they got out was because travis survived the fall from the roof and the only reason he survived is because his previous time loop corpses, that didn't survive the fall, provided a cushion for his fall. Another thing that I don’t think anyone brought up is that the amount of cars that change between each person going in, means that there are other people there in the grass with them stuck in their own loop! When Tobin finds Travis the first time he tells Travis that he hears whispers. It’s the other people stuck! He says that he doesn’t may attention to them though because they’re irrelevant to their connection. The rock allows him to not only see that’s happening in their loop, he can see EVERY loop.

myling novels it’s not a novel as far as I know but there’s a cool old movie called “Cube” ... it’s different from Infinite IKEA and Tall Grass in most superficial ways but similar in its core structure- people trapped in a mysterious structure that seems to go on infinitely and the characters need to try to understand how things work so they can escape. What I love about Cube is that as they understand more and more about the cubes they are traveling through... the more new questions that arise in your mind. In Cube they also did the time loop thing like in the Tall Grass Movie- one guy has survived in the Cubes by killing and eating other versions of himself from different timelines, much like how in Tall Grass the brother sees dozens of copies of his own dead body from different timeline. Check out Cube if you haven’t already, it’s old so most streaming platforms have it.

The church is also in a time loop... there is also another building in the in the left behind the church with a bunch of cars in one scene too. Actually they showed this building twice. Once in the beginning when becky first throws up, and when Carl and travis was looking across the field that popped up out of no where from the top of the bowling alley, and they thought it was the church, before freddy popped up and they saw the actual church. I dont think anyone left and they all died.

@tommyz10825 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. But who knows, it's a Stephen king movie.
@cdub442 жыл бұрын
Here's my theory: The whole movie is themed around decision making. Ross tells Cal that it's because of Cal's indecisiveness Cal always ends up dead. "Here in the garden of forking paths, you didn't make any one choice. You made every choice." Travis is always direct with his decision making and we see that throughout the entire film (leaving Becky, choosing an abortion, looking for Becky, entering the grass, tying the grass, standing up to Ross etc.) As opposed to everyone else unable to make up their minds and proceeding indecisively. I think that in every timeline the person who touches the rock, kills Becky (the mom, Cal, Tobin, and of course Ross) and this has been happening for perpetuity as the rock sketches show. The rock uses people to kill Becky because people don't stand up to the rock. The rock makes the decisions for them. And the stone feeds off of her baby in every timeline. Travis is "Dead" set in his ways and can't be moved by the rock. His decision making, which is what demonizes him in the beginning of the movie, is what redeems him in the end.

Everybody that touches the rock is given a chance to redeem their past sins. Ross appears to be an absent father because of work and his redemption is keeping his family forever with him, Travis abandoned his baby and Becky and is redeemed by saving them, Tobin is the reason Becky,Cal and the baby were in there in the first place and his redemption is stopping them from going in the grass, which stops Travis from going in which stops himself outside the time loop from going in. Well, you have to remember this ISN'T a Stephen King adaptation, its an adaptation of Joe Hill's novella, which is just a copy of Stephen King's Children of the Corn. All of Joe's works are just bad copies of his Father's books, which is why they keep saying "co-written by" when what they mean is that he is just copying his dads' works. They did the same with Sleeping Beauties(Storm of the Century) and Nosferatu(Needfull Things). Joe's books don't sell when he doesn't put his dad's name on them.

@duval14415 жыл бұрын
Tobin luring Cal and Becky into the Grass was pure; he hadn’t touched the rock yet. That was when he was separated from his parents. When he did touch the rock however, he didn’t become necessarily evil. Although Tobin tried to get Cal to touch the rock, he also gave out several hints that helped Cal later; how the grass doesn’t move dead things, how Becky was in danger being with Ross, etc. Honestly, it’s confusing, and that logic within the film suffered from bad writing, so I see what you mean.

The loop started when Becky and Cal went into the grass. After some time, Travis came looking for both of them so he went in as well. When Travis were stuck, Tobin and his family went in. The future Tobin stopped Becky and Cal so Travis will never come looking for them. Travis will get back together with Becky back home so it only means that Tobin and his family will continue their trip. The only thing is that the future Tobin who stopped the future Becky and Cal will end up with them since his family will go totally insane if they realize their is two Tobin. Becky and Travis will adopt Tobin or Tobin will decide to get into the tall grass again so hell be erase- since he is the mistake during this present.

I believe they all died. The scene on top of the bowling alley and the fact that tobin pops up inside the church tells me, the church is part of the time loop. They was stuck the second they heard that boy scream for help.
@jameslove85075 жыл бұрын
Leah Rojo Kaige not to sure about that. I’m pretty sure that version at the end broke the time loop but the one before them was stuck. Which is why the kid was calling for help. They were already stuck, but since end Becky and cal didn’t go they broke themselves out thanks to the previous version of Tobin before the new one got stuck.

@@jaseanhussain1903 Eyup! There was a bizarrely raging debate about it in the Rifftrax community after they watched a short called "At Your Fingertips: Grass." It was a 1970s short about making disturbing arts and crafts out of grass.

Jasean Hussain yes actually. Native Americans used selective breeding to make it by picking the biggest and best to eat grass seeds to plant it and got corn as a result. If you look at grass seeds up close you can see it does look like tiny corn kernels.

I Got lost in the woods, in the pine barrens of NJ.. it was just pine trees and sand. I got lost and made it home all in like 28 - 32 hours. It felt like a week though. Truly thought I was done for at a point which doesn’t even make sense cause there’s a road in every direction. I musta been walking circles the first 8 hours, Lookin* for the road I came in on. I wasn’t thinking right from panic I guess. Eventually I just picked a direction, walked as straight as I could, walked through the night , and i found a road right as the sun was coming up. Since there was a road in every direction I basically couldn’t die lost, as long as I wasn’t adamant about finding the road I came in on. But for the first bit I was Adamant about finding it. I’m walking in circles looking for that main road. And Thank god it eventually hit me, and I knew I’d be fine if I just picked a direction and stuck to it. It all looked the same though. Good times 🤙🏼 . I was only there scouting for a place to grow weed at 18 years old😂

The Tall Grass is linked to a ton of King's books like The Shinning, Pet Sematary, IT, Dome, Dark Tower Series and so on. Also, you say it as if to create a cursed place you need to be on drugs. It's one of the most common horror tropes.
