This is a brilliant film. The horror aspect is psychological: Paranoïa, the loss of self and any point of reference, desperation, absolute loss of self, etc. I recommend it thoroughly. It might not be for everyone, at all, but if you like horror movies who take a deeper psychological approach, and an original theme, you'll love it. 8/10 for me.

I could try help explain it... Basically, the main villain was the rock, it uses the grass to get more prey, it actually uses time as well, that's why it loops it, to attract more people in. In the book the church is called Rock of the Redeemer and it hints to people long ago having praised the rock but not anymore obviously. Anyway, you touch the rock, becuase the field belongs to it, you find the way out, but you don't want to leave becuase it's latched onto you

Ik y'all comedians and i'm here for it, but here's my honest review: Amazing movie. Probably one of the best horror movies I've ever watched. This movie was so trippy I can't even describe it to you. It deals with a central theme of paradoxy. Something very difficult to portray at all in movies, especially incorporating it into a horror movie, but if done successfully, which imo In the Tall Grass did, it can be mind blowing. Not only did it include some classical aspects of horror movies, like murder and gore, but its use of warped reality and paradoxy was the really phenomenal part. It was terrifying in an existential way, and If you can get past the confusing multitudes of plot lines in the beginning, everything will start to make sense and you'll slowly start to understand why this movie is so disturbing. 10/10 would recommend to anyone able to figure it out (it could be confusing for a lot of ppl).

In case someone wants to know the ending.....: This movie is a life lesson telling us to stop living in circles... dont do the same things over and over again or you will make the same mistakes repeatedly.. So they are all in a loop of cirlce of death.. they keep dying and running around in circles over and over again cus they make the same choices.... leading to their own death... so, travis made a different choice.. he didnt want to save his own life to live, instead he wanted to save other pepols lives... so he sacrificed his own life to stop the loop... In the end, tobin, cal and becky lived but travis, and tobin's parents died...... i hope my conclusion is close though!

Imagine walking on a tread mill. You see the edge of the treadmill in front of you. You see the room's door. But no matter how many steps you take, you never get any closer to either. That's kind of what would have happened if, for example, a woman had hopped onto a guy's shoulders and seen the edge of the field. A thousand steps, but not an inch closer to what's in sight.

I really think that the fact that Becky heard the little boy screaming for help at the begining is a sign from God that Becky shouldn't give her baby for adoption by an unknown family. It was as if Becky should have get into the grass to understand that she was about to make a bad decisions and that is why on her way to San Diego she realises that this boy was screaming for help as if Tobin was her own son she abandoned to a new family and as the woman says to Tobin that he shouldn't ask for help. The tall grass represents Tobin's new house with the new family where he is being stuck into darkness into a house with crazy people as the father being violent with the mother and where he is separates from his biological parents. Becky's brother was evil to her because he wanted to separate her from Travis as he thought Travis was not good enough for his sister and that is why he probably die, this reminds us that it is why he couldn't grow as individual and instead he dies because he couldn't grow and realise his own mistake he thought he was doing the best thing for his sister but instead was encouraging her in the bad choices and we can say that in the tall grass and the fact that Travis come into the grass means that he is regretting his own behaviour towards Becky and the baby and at the end when he saves Tobin and ask him to stop this from continuing. It is to be observed that he saves his own son from being seperated from his mother and therefore when at the end the boy beg Becky to not get into the tall grass because it is a bad idea then we see that Becky understand that she was about to do something she would suffer and regret about it later on and therefore she decides not to go to San Diego.

This movie reminds me of another mystery thriller I watched over a decade ago called Triangle (you can look it up). It has a similar theme only this takes place inside a mysterious field of grass. It has a few plot holes that isn't quite explained. And it stems from a certain degree of inconsistency even in its internal logic. Upon the resolution of the movie you'll find yourself questioning certain things that happened that seemed like it was supposed to lead to something, but ended up feeling like an abandoned thread. Still, don't let it discourage you from watching it if you enjoy a well-made supernatural mystery. When I watched it, I got this sense of classic mystery tales like something Stephen King would write, and sure enough, the credits described it as based on a short story co-written by King. The actors perform their roles competently. The imagery used in the movie were effective in adding to the surreal atmosphere, and at just under 100 minutes, it moves at a pace brisk enough that you'll never feel bored (at least I wasn't). I should warn you though, that if you were going into the movie expecting to be scared, you may be disappointed. This movie is not a horror movie per se. So if you were hoping for jump scares and thrills the kind you would get from a typical horror or slasher, you're not gonna get it here. But overall, it's not a bad

I'd like to see another movie about the tall grass made. I know this is based on a book that's only 70 pages long, but you can really expand on this. There can be a sequel and a prequel. I've never read the book, but I have looked up a lot of stuff about it. Here are my ideas how these additional films can work... Prequel: Showing how the power of the tall grass was made. Explaining how the rock has its power and who carved on it. When the church was built. In addition, in the book, the people who live in the town are aware that the grass is dangerous and they stay away from it. When travelers come by the town and get lost in the grass, neighbors go to the parked cars and steal whatever they can in them since they know the victims are never coming out. This prequel can show the first batch of victims and what led to locals not living near the grass anymore. Why they no longer go to that church. After each batch of victims go into the grass, the locals could have the cars dismantled so no outsiders can be suspicious. With this, after these vocals have disappeared, the future victims will leave their vehicles at the church which are the same ones we see in this movie. Sequel: In the book, Tobin said that he, his parents, and Freddy went into the grass because they heard a little girl call for help. Tobin didn't hear Travis shouting from the grass like in the movie because Travis didn't play a big role in the book. Travis was only mentioned being the father of Becky's child. So he never went into the grass in the book. Anyway, with mentioning that there was a little girl calling for help, this character can be in this story. And at the end of the book, a group of hippies in an RV park at the church to have a picnic. They go into the grass when they hear Tobin calling for help. The story ends there. So the hippies for this sequel idea can be what the story focuses on. For this idea, they could hear this little girl calling for help and that's when they go in. With all the dusty cars that are parked near the church in which every vehicle is from a different decade, the Volkswagen Beetle seen parked there seems to be the earliest decade of a vehicle parked there since that type seemed to be from the 1950s. My idea is that the little girl is on her way with her parents to see her grandmother. Instead of hearing someone call for help, the little girl probably wants to play hide and seek and with that, goes into the grass, but the parents quickly notice this and try to find her. In present day when the hippies are having that picnic I mentioned, that is when they will hear the little girl calling for help. In this movie, we only saw victims from the same year trapped in the grass. For this sequel, we can see victims from different time periods in the grass. So when the hippies meet these victims from the 1950s, it would be interesting to see their reactions to and iPhone and they would be like "You seriously think that cordless flat thing is going to be able to help you call for help?!" With the little girl getting out of the grass back in the 1950s, and if one of the hippies gets out and returns into modern day, he will be greeted by an old woman version of the little girl and she says she's been waiting for him. Also, the opening of the movie should have a great horror moment. We should see one of the hippies in an alternate loop when he is running from the killer and he hears the screaming from his friends all around them. He comes to a stop out of breath and sweating and then he will be pulled down or dragged away, thus revealing the title sequence. A title suggestion for this movie can be "Deep(er) In The Tall Grass".
