It’s amazing how frequently this occurs… it’s mostly because people don’t like seeing blood. There’s this very common delusion that “if I don’t have to see blood or bones, it’s just food and it doesn’t come from anything.” Reminder: meat is animals. Let’s be a more environmentally aware generation than this… and I don’t mean everyone has to be vegetarian. Just KNOW WHAT IT IS and deal with it. Put up or shut up. And if that means your meat intake goes down, so much the better.

Imo the only time anything backseating can be good is if you're informing them of a vital thing they missed and aren't going to see unless they're told about it. Or helpful and really important mechanics that the game never tells you about and you likely won't figure out are a thing on your own.

If you can miss something important and the game has *no way* of showing you, then it's either fine that it was missed OR it was crucial and the game is doing a bad job allowing itself to be played. No one ever needs a backseat gamer to walk them through a game that is well designed. If every player needs an external guide or a wiki just to make it through the game, then the game isn't very good in my opinion.

the fact that PLATE UP of all games was so rampant with backseating was absolutely baffling to me, having also been there live. truly the dark souls of restaurant management games, i guess. overall the sss community is great but sometimes people need to know when to just. shut up for a bit and let them play the game themselves. these games in particular are fun to watch specifically _because_ they aren't doing things the L33T GAMER 100% PERFECT MLG NOSCOPE way. if you can't control yourself, hide the chat and ignore it's there, or watch the VoD later instead.
