Brackish water has less bouncy than salt water could have been part of the problem of not getting onto plane.

I live in British Columbia on the coast, and there are many stories of fishermen coming into Port with fully loaded boats hitting the brackish water and capsizeing. I have also experienced this myself as I used to run water taxi and could feel the boat get more sluggish whenever transiting from salt water to fresh water. Love the channel. I've been watching since the beginning. Safe travels.

Capt. Colin, a good captain must know when he has a treasure in his grasp, uncomparable and unic jewels all wrapt in one neckless. Jewels like intelligence, trustworth, toughness, inner happiness, sweet heart, outer beauty, and other that I cant see at the moment because my eyes are too far away, but surely there. See if she is free from previous fortunate spanish guy. That neckless would produce us, the most famouse and great couple in the sailing world, ratings through the roof. Hey, don't thank me, I would take her away from you in a second if I had not a necless like that in my neck. Yes I am talking about her, Nerea. Antigua Guatemala, OsoYolo.

It was great having you guys as dock mates for a nice piece. Having not watched your or any other sailing channels including ones I support for several years, YT suddenly pushed Sailing Uma yesterday (you showed the sticker) and yours today, of course I had to see it...and how special it was. You guys are working hard and/or joking around all day long and this is beautifully captured in your very much improved production. Looks like you found your weather window, "Sail" (the rapidly becoming trained dog) and I are thinking about you as you chase the falling sun. It was a pleasure to meet you all in person and experience life behind the lens...which seems about the same as before it. Please be well. -Seán (S/V SeasLyfe)

There are several other channels that have visited that wreck over the past few years. It's visibly broken up a lot in just that time. The overall hull was more or less intact bow to stern and now is half collapsed. That location must get absolutely pounded during storms.

I did that , came within inches or millimeters away from being hard aground by lanai hawaii . I was trying to get out of a harbor carved into the cliffs - under sail . The wind and current change at the harbor opening almost ran me hard aground. I dropped my anchor and spun away from the reef , and saved my boat just in time somehow. God saved me - cuz I should have been hard aground middle of nowhere . How my keel didn't catch is beyond me .

The more shallow the water the easier it is for a boat to plane. Its to do with water density. Had a shark cat with one motor buggered running up the inside of Fraser island so we stuck to the shallows and it planed to our surprise. Did some research.
