Very interesting stuff. All good information but we should be also talking about the actual root cause of this and not stick around the surface. I’ve approached my “condition” with scientific methods for 15 years, the only length I haven’t gone is setting up a lab at home to test everything. When we say processed food, we often think of junk food and move on, but we should pause and talk about the processing of the very meats we’re being told are healthy to eat, the veggies, the fruits. EVERYTHING undergoes certain USDA or FSIS or other 3 letter org process requirements where they introduce lab made acids like citric acid, lactic acid, etc. that are made of black mold and other compounds. I eat exceptionally clean, yet I still can’t catch a break. They don’t even require labeling them on the ingredient list (happy to share info on that). What I’ve realized is that my autoimmune flares when I consume these. It is extremely difficult to stay away from them unless you grow your own food. Instead of fine tuning the diet to a miserable experience, we should be fighting to take back our food control rights and kill these organizations that ruin our food and cause so much harm. These organizations poison our food then call us disordered. I don’t have a “disorder” when I travel to a 3rd world country where they haven’t managed to ruin the food yet. It’s like filling your gas tank with water then wonder why the engine isn’t running. Time to burn it all down!

@@mysticm1543 I recently went to Armenia for 2 months and ate local foods, including from restaurants. I avoided sauces and packaged stuff. Although I did eat some canned stuff that were labeled properly. There they require the label to have the commercial chemical code (E220, E500, etc.) and not just vague names that could be mistaken for organic citric acid let's say. I have celiac disease here in US, which is miserable and feels like I can't eat anything. Over there I ate everything, and right before coming back I collected some courage and got some wheat from a local farm, milled it and made bread. While my bread making wasn't great, my digestion was perfectly fine. If the flour here even touches my food I have weeks long issues until my body figures out how to deal with this poison that I introduced to it.

And perhaps if your family is lucky, you might be successful in healing the gut, such that these tight junctions close - sufficiently to permit nuts back into the diet. Please educate about proper carnivore diet and not steer people from trying it I'm carnivore. My ratio is 75% fat 25% protein. Per ketomojo I have ketones. my last A1c was 5.1. I don't understand how I could not be running in ketosis or burning fat per her conversation carnivore was generalized as high protein when most actually eat higher fat. I also IF and incorporate some longer fasts periodically. I have extreme energy, helped with gut issues, lowered my A1c, no longer depressed, no longer craving carbs which I was addicted to and many more advantages.
@kimersen22293 жыл бұрын
With too much protein you activate gluconeogenesis from proteins to glucose. Most of the time you aren't in ketosis. I hear this idea many times. Some on carnivore pretends the amount of protein doesn't incide on conversion to glucose. I didn't see a documented prove on both sides.
@PhaseSkater3 жыл бұрын
If you’re exercising, the glucose creates from the protein gets burned off easily and you stay in ketosis. I think they are referring to older people who are couch potatoes. Leaky gut comes from dysbiosis and dysbiosis can have a ton of reasons. There are people who do much better with fiber ( that have a gut microbiome ) and people that do much worse. But all the people do better with fermented foods which i suspect start healing the gut. There are plenty of people that thrive on different diets, to think that people would eat only certain things throughout history can't be accurate. We have evolved from the ecuator with plenty of sun and fruits. There are cultures who thrive on milk and blood and we have plenty of studies showing yogurt/kefir being very healthy as well as anecdotal advice. Plenty of people can't do what she recommends unless there is something she is not telling, but doing 2:1 fat to protein from animals doesn't work for everyone and when people say it's not working that clinic just blames the person for not following the diet. Also is it just me or is it simplistic as f**k the test? You have detoxing capacities that varies, maybe some people detox better and some worse. Maybe some people detox through urine and some through fecal matter. There are people in this day and age that eat basically whatever they want and still are healthy, so what's the difference then? I tried the diet but i'm sure i have gut dysbiosis and also did a HTMA test and my magnesium is very low ( besides others ) Magnesium is very important in fat metabolism and phosphate balance, so a high fat + organ meats and protein diet is not at all good for me. I'll stick to proper science and not this, people vary in their needs.

Thanks for touching, though ever so briefly, on vaccine induced autoimmune responses. This topic needs much more discussion. Also, repairing leaky gut should be dealt with specifically; not just by eliminating what is causing mechanical wear and inducing inflammation. Intermittent fasting combined with pieces of aloe swallowed with bone broth immediately stops abdominal pain, greatly speeds healing. Adding ripe avocado, cooked asparagus, then liquified raw carrots, would be next in terms if what foods heal the gut lining. The other diet suggestions are fine, but do not contribute specifically to remedial care.

Hi Dr. Berg-- fascinating interview. I've been reversing poor gut health (also vitiligo) by tweaking exercise and meal programs. I started noticing depigmentation three years ago and began a fitness program a year after the inflammation crisis. Through eliminating certain foods and a dedicated workout routine I've seen a great deal of repigmentation. I spent 15yrs of my life a vegetarian, then integrated fish back into my diet (all before the auto-immune disease). I've not had chicken, beef, or pork-- in 20 years. However, I'm curious of the impact of even a small meal prepared with bone broth would have on my gut and therefore vitiligo. Are you able to provide input?

The PKD could be referred to as Keto-carnivore. It is still carnivore in that they recommend excluding all plant foods. They do, however, make "concessions" for people who want to include certain plants, as long as the total plant content of the diet does not exceed 30%. They explicitly state that there's no additional benefit gained by including plant foods. Plant foods are less nutrient-dense, with less bioavailable nutrients, and often contain antinutrients such as phytates, oxalates, lectins, or other plant-made toxins. Therefore, displacing any amount of animal foods with plant foods in the diet is always suboptimal. The unhealthy vegetable oils they recommend eliminating include coconut oil as it has been shown to increase intestinal permeability.

I have been vegan for years and even liquidarian for 3 months consistently with only a handful of plant based food per day for those three months. I find that plant based can work. It takes knowledge of self and a clean body to absorb nutrients however. For example, initially I felt malnourished when going completely plant based. My body was not clean enough to live on high vibrational foods alone. It needed the density because that's where my frequency was. I then took a gradual process of over two years to be real and to listen to my body using my intuition, logic and senses. This is what I call a grounded, spiritual approach to nutrition - An energy lifestyle. At first I cut out beef, then chicken, then fish, then eggs and then went all plant based. ^Pork is a no at all times for many reasons. It is lower than beef energetically. Right now I live with plant based nutrition and incorporate pasture raised organic eggs regularly and high quality fish on rare occasions. I find that as my connection with the world increases and I become more in tune with my body and cooking + whole food nutrition I am able to live completely plant based. I can see and feel the natural progression. Where I am now is the most Balanced of Emotions, Clearest of Mind, and most Energetic, Fittest, Strongest that I have ever been -> From 117.1 to 130.6lbs from May 3rd 2022 to June 12th 2022 -> 6% body fat the entire time

Great video. Basically what happened is, they have a test which is claimed to discern how good a diet is relative to your gut health, because they can test how 'leaky' the gut is, which gives evidence to how well your gut is doing or not. Since gut health is paramount to all aspects of health, they drew very valuable conclusions from these tests in my opinion. They first used the data from those tests when testing people on a traditional paleo diet, and refined it into a 'perfect for the gut' paleo diet by noticing the tests got better when they removed everything but 4-legged animal meat, organs, and fat, preferably grass-fed and high quality. That is what they claim is the best diet for humans, even though it can all come from a single animal, such as a cow, pig, or goat. However, due to the poor quality of pig meat in the US, it's suggested to go with beef or lamb if you are in the US. The simplest and most widely available is going to be beef, you can get the grass fed kind online if you have to. To truly get all of the nutrients you need long term, they require you to eat at least 200g of bone marrow and 400g of liver per week minimum. The diet is extremely simple, but just as important is the fact that absolutely nothing else should be taken according to them, including supplements, additives to water, other types of drinks besides water, cheese, eggs, or otherwise normal keto food, multivitamins, sweeteners, gums, even toothpastes. The one additive they say is good is sea salt (maldom or celtic). One of the coolest things I personally got from this diet is that cooked vs raw wasn't important. That is a big deal to me because I hate raw meat/fat/marrow, even though I know it's good for me. The average person will need about 400g of food per day, until you reach your stable weight. Once that happens or if it has already happened or you are underweight, eat until you are no longer hungry, as long as you keep the 2:1 fat to protein ratio. Everyone needs approx 57g of liver a day on average, 29g of bone marrow a day on average, and at least 50g protein, which increases the taller you are, increases if you're male, and increases the more you're physically active. Since I'm tall and male, I need around 80g protein a day. Then it's just a simple matter of 80*2 to get my daily fat intake (160g). I will in reality eat less than this while approaching my ideal weight, and need to eat more the more active I am. For me, this comes out to be 429g of food per day on an average day, just to give you an idea. To visualize that, it comes out to about 15 oz of animal food per day, however most people would end up somewhere around 11 oz per day.

@luke wallace Thank you so much for a very detailed comment. I am a little confused about the ratio of fat to protein (you mentioned 2:1). I listened to another interview with paleomedicina where they stated 100grams of meat to 35 grams of fat. Of course, meat naturally contains fat, so I presume it is the total fat in 100 grams of protein plus additional 35 grams of fat that comprises this ratio? Could you possibly elaborate? Also, would you be willing to share what benefits you personally experienced and whether you are continuing on with the diet? Many thanks and may you have continued good health!

Thank you for your comment. Very helpful. Are you following this diet ? How many days take to feel more energized ? Thank you very much.
@lukewallace68252 жыл бұрын
@@maryannmd8331 takes about 24 to 72 hours to feel better. Hunger stops being a problem after that as well. The only problem is the lack of addicting comfort food. This is a significant problem, we are a lot like dogs in our inability to control feeding if we have unlimited access to food. It's because we are all addicted to substances in dairy, caffeine, and sugar. And we are used to eating for taste. I'm currently experimenting with a diet that is close to pkd, but includes grass fed butter as primary fat and energy source, with lots of eggs, cow brain and liver, and of course beef. Butter is not allowed on pkd neither is large amounts of eggs. This diet works for me because I have no disease and no noticeable lactose intolerance, but it's likely that my intestinal permeability is still not fixed due to my modifications. The benefits are that I don't overeat due to being in ketosis and that my permeable intestine is only bothered by lactose and not much else, so I have no symptoms of any kind and feel good. If I were to eat carbs, sugar, and caffeine I will develop high blood pressure, lethargy, and feel terrible again as I've noticed when cheating on diet.

I know in diet one size doesn't fit all but I have reached the point where I now believe quality of life is more important than quantity.
