The information is very useful and you present it so eloquently. I was watching one of my regular fashion influencer KZbin videos the other day and she was sharing how she stays so slim at the age of 60. One of her viewers commented on how she noticed recently how bloated she was and was very distraught about it. I recommended your channel and suggested that it may be the foods she is eating because that is what I experienced when I reached menopause. This knowledge about the microbiome, leaky gut, etc. has helped me tremendously. I started working with a dietitian since 2017 and read books about the microbiome. Thank you for what you do.

Wow, I've never heard this explained so simply. Thank you because this saves so much time and money going down pathways that don't work! I do have some questions though. What does one do if they're allergic to foods on the low/safe side? Eat a very restrictive diet - which concerns me because I've developed nutritional deficiencies from it - or eat them in low quantities until a reaction occurs? Also, I believe maltodextrin is derived from corn. What alternative is available for an elemental diet if I'm allergic to corn? Thanks again!!

Great Video Dr. Ruscio. I am on the Great in 8 plan and succumbed to recovering swiftly and feeling amazing by eating a lot of carbs and sugars on two days. I felt like i reversed my progress because I felt the bacteria/fungus grow back in a "wildfire" manner. Things have calmed down though but I feel good, do you think I should reset the protocol? I found this very interesting, Thank you. I seem to fit into the Bacterial category. I am just recovering from a IBS episode and have been trying to ascertain what caused it because I have been so careful following the FODMAP diet and not had an issue for several years. We just bought a dehydrator and I am wondering if dehydrated steak could have been the problem?

I have a question for you Dr. Regarding my daughter 19y. She has been having gut issues for the last 4 y. She had candida, anxiety, helicopter and leaky gut ( very high Zonulin). We got rid of candida and helico. But still Zonulin which is a bit better. She has rash and acne, hard to gain weight although good appetite. My worry is about dizziness and she fainted lately , do u think it’s related to histamine, or her thyroid affected ? She worries a lot . What could it be ? Thank you so much ❤ sorry , plus she has low HbA1c 4.7, and hemochromatosis

This video is incredibly informative and well-made. Even though it's a bit difficult for me to narrow it down to one gut problem based on my diet, I lean most toward it being immune-based. I respond the best with a spore probiotic (I've tried them all) and I wanted to ask if there is any evidence that you've come across to support a correlation of efficacy with probiotic type versus gut issue type? If so, it may help me further support my immune-based gut theory. Thanks!
@DrRuscioDC

So glad it was helpful! The three main types of probiotics can be useful for most gut conditions (so most gut types), but it’s great if you’ve found those to be more effective than other strains. Could be related to type or something more unique to you, like your microbiome.

Thanks for the videos. I have leaky gut and i'm dealing with candida/mold/histamine - i'm on keto/carnivore which has helped loads but i cannot tolerate anything antimicrobial/antifungal they just end up kicking my ass, despite me supporting methylation/MTHFR/detox pathways. So i am going for the more gentle route of diet + probiotics and hoping for the best with healing over time.

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been doing so much research trying to figure out exactly which gut type I have and it appears I have most of the symptoms to the immune gut type. Although one of the symptoms you didn’t mention was seeing undigested food in the stool. Which category would that fall under? Also, silly question, but can you have more than one gut type?

Hey Dr. Ruscio. I'm making an assumption so perhaps you can confirm or disconfirm, is it possible for the 3 gut types to overlap at all? Can you, for instance, be experiencing or embodying a bacterial imbalance that is also significantly affected by histamine and is causing notable immune responses? If so, would a combination of the protocols be a viable solution? If you were a bacterial/immune, would a low fodmap and low histamine diet be advantageous? I'm just curious about the interplay and potential coexistence of these three types. Thank you so much.

Very informative, thank you! I have a question. My tests came back for dysbiosis (8/10 severity) and "gut infection" (3/10), and my breath tests have suggested moderate IMO. I also react really terribly to lots of foods (hot flashes, palpitations, head fog, severe headache, stomach becomes hard as stone, etc...). I try to follow a low fodmap and low histamine diet. When I take clonazepam (1/2 mg daily), I feel a LOT better and can tolerate most foods pretty well. I know that clonazepam reduces anxiety and stress, but why does it help so much with my other symptoms? (I did read that it is a mast cell stabilizer.) With this in mind, is there anything I should take a closer look at that might help me while not taking clonazepam? Currently not taking clonazepam and some days are "okay" (no intense suffering) but some days are terrible. Thank you!

You might be having histamine issues, I have IMO and recently had candida then histamine issues happening, it could be inflammation caused by histamine intolerance issues. Look into Claritin for temp relief, drink plenty of water, meditation/mindfulness(natural stress relieve). Look up symptoms and see if you have any.
