Still coming back from injury, and running the 10,000m in Tokyo next week. She says she's just going to see what happens (with no huge expectations)
@lisbonapartments72033 жыл бұрын
@@Tigerex966 yeah for her Pb this is around her 8km/10km pace actually. It makes sense not to overcook it before the olympics, a tactical race is much easier to recover from than a time trial.

Hassan took Gold with 14.36.79 these 2 would have finished 9th and 10th respectively with the 14.51's , can't wait to see what Koko has in the 10k.

Why is Koko wearing arm sleeves?

You see how little meat that poor thing has on her bones? She needs to stay warm in the freezing 80 degree weather.
@donshields23793 жыл бұрын
Most likely at the time of day this race was run (evening) they are compression sleeves used to keep swelling of the arm muscles down.

Why did the inital leader pull out?
@free2roam674 Жыл бұрын
The initial leader or sometimes leaders are pacemakers, they keep the proper pace early and also break the wind for those behind. In the Olympics and World Championships there are no designated pacemakers.
@johnbrowning28293 жыл бұрын
Yeah she ran 14:26.76 and went to war with Obiri, barely got out kicked. These annoucers want to talk about heart Koko is the one to watch. This race and Doha were completely different races, so the time isn't that relevant. I'm not saying she will beat Tsegay but I would bet the house they can't drop her in Tokyo. Also this time makes a ton of sense if it is her plan to run this pace for the 10k. She will need something like 29.30 to medal. For perspective 29.40 would be the sixth fatest time ever, and her PB by a ton, so tall order no doubt. If she gets out kicked fine , but I bet you she answers.

@halvormartins72083 жыл бұрын
American women are still far, far away from a medal I'm afraid. Josette Norris is ranked 17th in the world this year with her 14:51. In the Games you'll probably have to go sub 14:20 to medal.
