Marty, I can testify to a couple of reasons for it. One is Darren's barrista skills. Holy guac-a-freakin- moly does he make a killer brew! Secondly, there allegedly may be donuts involved (my wife can't find out about those due to my weight loss efforts). But the main reason is, we all love each other and respect each other's skill & artistry, and when we record with Darren, his Production brings out the best in everyone. Me, I'm still going with the donuts. 🤣

...not quite a year since he went away...but now, he's back with a musical vengeance! Velvet harmonies, that signature half time shuffle. Tib delivers the Kimball high lines brilliantly. Exciting to see some new faces with Damien and the infectious sense of fun Crafty brings, as well as the return of Tzan and Mario. Rich, tight production by Producernerd and Peadar of SmakOn. Toto are the musicians' musicians. You gotta be good to do Toto, but to do it THIS well...take a bow, fellas. Hope this catches alight across the interwebs.

Well there you have it, some of Adelaides legendary musicians all in one room, playing what in my mind satisfies all musicians across the globe. To sing it you have to be in the one percenters, as a drummer it's the ultimate groove, as a keyboard player it has an amazing overlap in the solo, as a guitarist it's up there with iconic guitar solos and as a bass player it gives you finger technique with a touch of slap. Give a listen to Rosanna by HSCC and see what you think. I think Darren's got better final production on this version but HSCC's got the live horns, dual synths, and a tighter drumline. Vocals on both equally good. A toss-up for me as to best cover of Rosanna. YMMV

This actually is outstanding. The reason this song is one of the highest standards in music (ever)... like a Litmus Test... is bc this song epitomizes the concept “the ART is to CONCEAL the art”. Most drummers never achieve the standard of it grooving on a macro scale... the just work up the verse groove and think they’re done. The chorus groove is even harder and to keep it all gracefully in time and grooving... wow, this guy nails it. And what about the rest of the band ? This is the other main reason every other cover of Rosanna out there sucks. Most bands rush all of the hits / band figures... especially in the chorus. Everyone in this BAND is RIGHT ON across the board. This is SO RARE. Even the GTR & Keys fills coming out of the pre-Chorus = in perfect sync with the drummer. WOW !!! And the bassist’s slap fills in the chorus... in time and grooving !!! Wow +. ...just Fantastic !!! When I see a video of yet another band trying to cover this song or another drummer trying to teach it.. it usually just disgraces the song by how much they just don’t even get it. This cover was different. Just Outstanding. Of course... I’m not even mentioning the outstanding singing... AWESOME. The only nit-picky criticisms I could make is that the piano patch sound pretty lame to me in the Outro... and the overall sound is a bit on the smooth side... it could use a bit more edge... or at least a little bit more of a real acoustic instruments sound. But this is a grand slam, for sure. A heart felt congratulations, everyone !!!! BRAVO 👏 !!!! So Great !!!

@@singitliveworld I’ve played this song live many times (gigging professionally for 30 yrs) and it’s so rare to have the whole band hitting on all cylinders like this. There’s always at least one player that threatens to derail the whole song. The fact that I can only comment on the sounds is such a huge compliment in itself. With 95% of the covers out there there’s no point to even leave a comment... there’s always way more wrong than right. You guys just get it. I’m super impressed.
