yep, after 10k hours, i absolutely can't be arsed 'working' on high-end, large, tough bases... I go multiple shitty-looking tiny bases. No matter how big, strong or clever your base, the moment it's over 3 foundations in size, raiders will target it. Your base building logic is spot on. Very professional tutorial vids too! 👍 'd #Paxus Rating: ★★★★

I get that bunkers are good for trios but if you are quad or more im always gonna pick the simple zerg 5x5 internal peaks metal core, stone exterior with first 2 floors high qual. Its much easier to defend in my experience than a bunker base.

@alikawtharani38143 жыл бұрын
You build a half wall and place a floor or tri floor to get to the top, you can't through the chests yeah. I also was confused like you, but the point of the bunker bases is to permanently seal that bottom part with a floor.

Although it's certainly a good design, I doubt I'll use it that often especially on high pop servers. Personally I've never been a fan of bunker bases because chances are if a group can get 25 rockets to raid you, then they can also get 50 rockets to raid you. Unless your playing on one of the solo, duo, trio servers making a tank base really doesn't matter due to the fact that a groups can make a significant amount of explosives relatively quickly. Personally I rarely make a base with a raid cost beyond 30 rockets because if a group wants to raid you they'll raid you. Doesn't matter if it's a 20 rocket raid or a 50 rocket raid they'll easily be able to farm the resources and components to raid you. I'd rather make a decent base that isn't a hassle to use and sacrifice some of the raid cost for it, rather than making a tank base that's super annoying to use and will probably get offlined by a large group anyway. Honestly getting raided is way more fun online, than offline and I feel like whatever investment you make towards your base, it should be towards improving your chances in a online raid, because if you're getting offlined you probably never stood a chance from the start.
@hhhfggg29694 жыл бұрын
that's just a dumb mentality to have though, why have a base that costs 30 rockets when you can have one that costs 50 just having that mentality you may aswell live in a wood 2x2 all wipe, because it doesnt matter if its 50 rockets if someone wants to raid you theyll raid you.

can you splash both bunkers?
@Responded4 жыл бұрын
or jack hammer
@SirTaiga4 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't be able to splash both bunkers as the metal layer fully covers the HQM bunker. Yes unfortunately as with all stability bunkers you can jackhammer raid them. However I have gone over this style of raiding in part 2, but essentially jackhammer raiding becomes unfeasible without a workbench. So the outer metal bunker I would argue is quite safe from jackhammer raids (4:35). The armoured layer (5:28) on the main servers I play on would never feasibly be picked through in a raid without TC access. But as I mention in video perhaps on lower pop servers it is necessary to move the workbench to again prevent this style of raiding. Definitely, things to keep in mind but I've tried my best to prevent this style of raiding.

@happyrobot63964 жыл бұрын
Your logic regarding raid cost is flawed. Rust building is all about numbers. If I can get the degenerates that offline me at 4AM to farm two extra rows of sulfur when they hit my bunker, then my job is done. Yes, any group CAN raid you, but if that’s the case, then why build a ~23 rocket bunker base with hardly any base defense features? Also two high foundations aren’t really sustainable. I want a base I can slap down anywhere and not have to worry about whether I’ll be able to expand later without testing with twig. One more thing, upkeep only really becomes a problem when the HQM cost goes over 200/24hrs (in my opinion). The other resources, Stone and Metal, aren’t really a problem unless you live in the desert or something. I would say any metal/stone upkeep cost under 8k a night is perfectly manageable. For these reasons I tend to opt for an hjune 2x2 with a bunker, fully upgraded its ~32 rockets to core loot room with very low upkeep from the separated TCs
