I can handwave it by viewing Mushroom as representing the "you, dear reader, decide what happened for yourself," writing style of the book. Since the show is forced by the narrative coherence incumbent on serialised drama, it would be ill-done to have a character who's main purpose is to offer alternatives to the "official," version of events that we can decide for ourselves in the book. While that is my "practical" reasoning, my more theatrical side can't help but wish they had cast another person who happens to be shorter than average stature in the Mushroom role. That said, how the heck is anyone supposed to "follow up" the breakout character of one of the biggest phenomena in television history? That's like asking another curly haired woman to play a no-nonsense space-trucker after Sigourney Weaver was so iconic as Ripley in Alien. How can you do it?!

@CharmagnCody-mw6zr it's just Mushroom is quite a boisterous and comedic character who literally serves as the Fool to Rhaenyra...sure he's implied to actually be smart and cunning, but an accurate portrayal of the character would be more akin to those dwarves who performed at the Purple Wedding than anything we saw in Tyrion

This reminds me of the Shattering. I know you're not a video game lore channel, but have you ever considered maybe doing even a small video on Elden Ring? It is the perfect time now with what that DLC coming up. Though I'd get not wanting too, the lore acquisition process is quite different and compitetion is quite fierce, but I'd be interested to see what somebody more familiar with G.R.R.Martin then Fromsoft would conclude about the story.

And I think it was a Baelor Hightower that tried to marry Elia Martell before she married Rhegar. We also have Auron waters a Velaryon bastard I think the lords brother. thank the lord Veleryons name is Monford and a Lucerys Velaryon served the mad king as master of ships.

The issue I have with HOTD is that they had massive, full sized dragons in their prime. Yet in GOT we learn that they devolved over many generations into tiny, feeble species. Are we to believe that two hundred years is long enough for this devolution to occur?
