Learning about this has helped relieve those business mysteries that give artists anxiety. Like my dad says, "Hope is not a plan". Thankfully, "carefully targeted ads containing your artistic content" is a plan. Here's to artists with a plan!

Targeting is so easy to get wrong. I work with lots of clients who make these exact mistakes. Thanks for clearing this up - I now have a video to refer them to!

To anyone just jumping in here, I recommend just diving into messing around in Business Manager. Once you get your hands a little dirty all of this starts to click and it becomes second nature. It just seems like a lot upfront. Kepp going!

So important to do market segmentation! As a producer I make different genres of music, I make different products and they aren't relevant to everybody, this is smart marketing, just sending the right messages to the right people :)

Hello! Thank you very much for the very detailed info! I will release my singel the 26th February that has gain interest from two record labels and a radiopromotor. They all have the same kind of feedback: We love the music but there is right now not enough streams or data to analyse. So I will first run a Instagram marketing campaign with a video showing the album cover while the chorus is playing. My question is: My campaign will have a budget of 500 dollars, when do you recommend me to stop marketing the cold interested based audience and move to the " warm " custom based audience? Half way through the campaign to use the 250 dollars on custom based? I would be very thankful if you could tell me what you think! All the best from Sweden, Jonas Snitt
